Sorry to hear this. I was interested but I was waiting to get my car back from Tator's before responding. EZ 2B Green is back online now with new upgrades for the fall events.
This is sad. I just got my car back from Chuck on Saturday. It was in his shop for three weeks. All I can say is he and his staff (Rob++) did an excellent job on my Gen IV SSG Roadster. They installed an Autoform roll bar and handled the R&R of my transmission. I'm not a track guy but I...
Dan's suggestion is a good one. I had an intermittent short on the CAN bus on my last Chevy. Lots of weird failures would occur at the same time when it happened. The clue that solved it was that it seemed to occur most often when applying the brakes. It turned out to be the brake pedal arm...
It's unclear what the motivation is behind this question is. Some of the possibilities are:
1. Increasing the sales volume of the Viper line
2. Emissions
3. Fuel Economy
4. Reducing production cost
5. Reducing the footprint (physical size) of the engine
6. Lighter weight
7. All of the...
MY600HP is the authority on this and it is as he says. 2008 Gen IV's do not have a diagnostic for the skip shift. 2009 & 2010 Gen IV Viper's do test for the skip shift using engine RPM & vehicle speed data. There is no way to defeat the 2009/2010 skip shift without changing/reprogramming the PCM.
With all the negative news we have to deal with in today's world, thinking of what a Gen V Viper might be like is a nice escape. When my wife and I drive our Gen IV it brings smiles from nearly everyone around us. Ralph, if you are reading our posts, please build a Gen V and we the Viper...
Interesting, it appears that the total C6 ZR1 production alone will soon exceed (if it hasn't already) all of Gen IV Viper production.
Update : 2009 + 2010 ZR1 production = 2989 vehicles. Already more than Gen IV Viper (2008-2010).
The Ford GT is the car to seek if you are not involved in long road trips. The GT has no storage space if you want to use it for travel. For some people that is a consideration. Good luck!
I think it is pretty common for the Gen IV's to burn oil for the first 800 miles or so. Once the engine is broken-in a little the oil consumption drops dramatically. I change my oil once a season (~3500 miles) and I don't need to add any oil between changes. I think I remember Mark Jorgensen...
Thanks for the info. I will pass the details on to Santa. I know you are Bad Boyzz but have you considered a VCA Venom Christmas Special for us good boyzz? :D
That is very encouraging. Are there any other cars running the same setup? I think we need a bigger sample of cars to be sure that the PCM is happy. I've heard of issues (CE codes) with the Belangers. Unfortunately, I live in a state that reads the OBD II port for inspection purposes so I...
Can anyone help answer a question? I want to know if the original factory boot cover fits properly with the new rear closeout panel that comes with the rollbar kit like the one pictured in this thread. On a factory boot cover, the outer molded side pieces (shaped like a lobster claw) have a...
The skip shift can be eliminated on 2008 and older Vipers using the eliminators (plugs/resistor) but starting in 2009 there is a PCM diagnostic that will detect the lack of a skip shift if one is called for by the system. After a few+ detections of no skip shift the PCM will set a diagnostic...
