That's why I am in a viper and not a corvette. I would rather viper production skipped years as before. Probably not.........unless it's tied into sales. Advice for those who haven't taken a road trip in their Gen V
That is good to hear. I drive mine often but only very short distances. I am tempted to drive the 100 miles to the Dodge viper dealer where I made the purchase....just to say Hi and tell him how happy I am. 1000 miles........lucky you- pathoguy

I have a bought a Gen v (traded from an 06 coupe Gen 3) and the car will never see a road course since I have 0 interest in racing. I would rather see no production in 2015 and even 2016 than these tame/lame changes. Let the car hibernate for a time while big changes are planned. Let the fever and wanting build and then release something really outstanding, relative to what's out there. I don't read car mags, but hope...- pathoguy

Initial Impressions: Move from Gen IV Coupe to Gen V GTS
Another Gen 3 to 5 owner and extremely pleased. The Gen 5 is also friendly and forgiving enough for motorists like myself that have average driving skills at best.- pathoguy

I bought my 2013 srt base for around $88k (including the Gen 3 trade). The Gen 3 stickered for $84k back in 2006. I know the Gen 4 is comparable in hp to the Gen 5 and maybe performs similarly, but unless the gen 4 differs significantly from the Gen 3 in functional areas other than...- pathoguy

I am from London, although been in US for many many years. Petrol (gasoline) prices are typically in the $8 per gallon range. That is probably why in Europe car manufacturers use a lot of boosted small engine displacement (2L or less is common) for achieving hp. Look at the new Alfa Romeo 4C...- pathoguy

Let the viper hibernate for a while (like 07,11,12) until they get their act together for a serious upgrade. Adding colors and little bits of trim will not help. I funded a turbocharged 06 mustang which ran 10.0 at 136 mph in the 1/4. Started with a Procharger, then single turbo 67mm, then 76mm. Tuners changed the boost level at the strip. You are right of course.......however beyond the racing aspects, lots of folk capable and willing to buy these types of cars are influenced by hp numbers. I love my Gen 5 as I did my previous vipers, but it bothers me a tad that the newest viper now has 60+ less hp than another factory Dodge...- pathoguy

If dodge does not match or exceed 707 with the viper, take it off life support. I have a Gen 5 (Gen 3 and 2 before) and love it, drive it to work unless stormy forecast, not selling it anytime soon....but hate to see what is happening. Very close to becoming a part of the Viper nation. Need forum input
I drive it very often, sometimes 5-6 days to work in a row. If forecast is stormy, I take the SUV, otherwise it's the most comfortable and easy to drive viper that I have owned. It's still a viper, very low, small cabin, poor visibility etc, but comfort is improved, a/c improved as well. Mine is...- pathoguy

Problem with door
Not happened to my 2013, but did on my mate's 2013 GTS after he hand washed. I am very careful to avoid hard spray around the handle area and also dry same area quickly after wash before depressing the handle for any reason. Car washed it saturday and still no issues.- pathoguy

gen v resale value
Admirable.....alas my work commute is over before the engine reaches its normal running temp. Still I got to drive it 6 days in a row, until a heavy storm forecast forced me into the SUV this week. It's an exciting experience even at the 55 speed limit that takes me to work. So to me, this viper...- pathoguy

gen v resale value
Started overpriced with too many maxed-out GTSs. With discounts presently offered ($20+, price is settling to where it should have in the first place. My Gen 3 coupe sticker was mid $80s. My 2013 base is worth another $15k in comparison. I don't see values changing for this car..... with 640hp...- pathoguy

Survey - '02 RT/10 or '13 SRT?
Had an 02 and 06 coupes. My driving skills are average at best and not interested in racing of any kind. So I like these cars because of the look, how they feel even at the speed limit, and of course the exclusivity. I don't need 640 hp and never tapped into the 505 hp of the 06. After 2000...- pathoguy

This is what happened. In trying to appeal to a $120-150k market with maxed out GTSs, sales suffered. Too many other excellent choices in that range. I waited for slightly used base SRTs to surface and bought 20k below MSRP. There are even better deals out there now. Coming from a G3 to 5 and...- pathoguy
