I have an 06 coupe (black with silver stripes). Bought it 3 years ago from the original owner who had logged 4048 miles. I bought it through the original Dodge dealership, just 20 minutes from the house. It now has 12,300 miles. I have never driven long distances, so no experience there. My...
You may be able to suppress the comments....much harder to change opinions. I am on the fence about the Gen V. Seeing one in person would I hope remove the fence. Been driving over 40 years and never met a car that was perfect, so not looking for perfection. Had a Gen II, now a Gen III coupe...
No doubt you have way superior technical knowledge of performance motors. Those numbers you quote likely make a valid point, but maybe wasted on someone like me (mechanically challenged). Alas, I like vipers for all the wrong reasons. I enjoy the feel, the stance, the look of a viper even at the...
All more hp means to me is a longer walk out of of the woods, after losing control......still I was surprised with only a 40 hp increase and expected a similar jump as from gen 3 to 4. So even though I would never use the extra hp nor mod the car, feel that 640 hp from such massive displacement...
Thank you all for responding. I would only buy a coupe, but wanted some idea of value for both my Gen3 and my next viper adventure (which started with a Gen2).
I have a gentleman interested in my 06 coupe and if I sell, I would soon be in the market for a GenIV
How much more are coupes going for than convertibles (same year, same mileage etc)?
Thanks
I would think not if stripes are close to factory specs...nothing custom. Added silver stripes to my 06. Dodge dealer where I bought car, did the work. Took 2 weeks. They brought in another 06 to match the dimensions from front to back. I wanted the stripes to be factory dimensions for the 06...
Had a 2002 GTS for about a year. Had lower back problem, not helped by previous owner lowering the GTS, which caused me to sell . Back healed several months later, bought 06 coupe. Likely would only sell the Gen III for a Gen IV, although I could be seduced by something else??? Not into brand...
Very nice. Excellent color combo. Looks like a Jeep Grand Cherokee in the garage....if so, your garage interior looks very similar to mine. My girlfriend parks her white Cherokee next to the coupe.
Come from a Gen2, now have a Gen3, starting to consider a Gen4. Look so similar, but what's the difference under the skin. Have driving characteristics changed that much? I know there's a significant hp bump, but not interested in going faster or street/other racing. Realistically all another...
Well done selling those vehicles to folk that will appreciate and care for them, also on the acquisition of the 08. Not sure what the aero package is, see a wing in the pic? I have a GenIII (same color combo), previously a GenII FE, and starting to consider a GenIV. Interested to hear about the...
I had 2002 #324 FE and now a 2006 coupe. I prefer the looks of the Gen II, the ride of the Gen III. I also found the hood of the FE a bit of a hassle compared to the Gen III.
I bought an 06 black coupe (1st owner was the doc, not me). Had stripes painted per factory specs for the year. They used a 2006 factory striped viper for measurements. Took the car apart and spent 2 weeks on it. The only difference is that there is no lip.
Not so... many folk on different car forums including this one, move from one brand to another and are not so locked-in into their car that they would not consider another. This forum seem to attract sports car enthusiasts that appreciate other automobiles besides the viper. I am on my 2nd...
On my second viper, so enthusiast fits, although I could be equally enthusiastic without ever having owned one. Not into elitism, titles, or joining groups, nor do I need the enthusiast heading to enjoy my ride.
Bought mine from local auto store for maybe $20. Had it couple of years...no issues. Same folk that are inclined to key a car/slash a tire etc, will see if gas cap will open. It's not a daily but drive it 2-3 times a week, the 4 minutes to work. Park it in same spot in faculty area, so know all...
Was willing to buy from the few reputable sources around the country. Just on a whim stopped by my local Dodge dealer and they knew of a 2006 coupe (4048 miles) possibly for sale. It was purchased new from the dealership. Dealership contacted owner and arranged the sale.
You have definitely earned it. I'm only on my second viper and not a VCA member. If you don't get one, PM me an address and I will send you mine. I like it but happy to give it to someone more worthy.
I was brought up in Europe on V12 Jags and although been in the US for 30 years, $150,000+ is still considered very good value for owning an ultra high-performance car on the other side of the pond. It's like the price of gas...folk over here get frantic with gas prices hovering around $4/gal...
