From messing around with them, my conclusion was for vibration / noise. As I tapped on them trying to find a reason for the sealer as well, I heard ALOT of ratteling. So that must be at least 1 reason why.- -FROG-

Guesstimate what my rwhp/tq is going to be
My 01' motor had some of the highest HP readings I have seen for the mods I had and it's mostly the common bolt on's, except for head work. This got me 467HP and 508TQ - 11.3 1/4 mile @125MPH on Drag Radials: SVS Headers, highest flowing headers made in my opinion. It's a "race only" header...- -FROG-

Viper Rentals...who would beinterrested?

Anyone know how to program this Shift Light
No brand name or anything? I tell you what has worked wonders for me finding data, is do GOOGLE "IMAGE" searches for stuff like "Shift Light" and "shift light box"... you know, enter in keywords that may help images pop up that look like yours. Gen1 dash removal and painting?
I wonder how difficult it would be to find some "stretchable" vinal, fake leather and apply it over the dash? Heck I bet some Carbon Fiber would be easy enough too, with a little time envolved... Like these pics of kit cars - Shelby Cobra Dash...- -FROG-

How to get cas cap off a GTS?
Some caps have plastic spacers if I recall... they will melt off when getting "chromed"... Most people buy a better looking cap or aftermarket... the "chroming" ideas have been discussed many times before.- -FROG-

Another fuel filter PITA thread

Went to A.R.T in Buda. Yes its an amazing experience!
SCT probably won't give you much on a stock type setting. I think I gained about 10HP with mine. However, it is good to have for tuning when you start the more serious upgrades.- -FROG-

Added in Strut tower bar, with Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator mounted so it's visible when looking in the engine bay to make it easier for tuning. Installed heater blower assembly, cleaned up heater hoses / heater valve and a few other water lines. Properly mounted brake booster vacuum line...- -FROG-

Thanks! About the brakes... yea, I think about that from time to time. It will probably be the next upgrade. But really, when I get going really fast, I make sure I have enough slow down road up ahead. So, weather more power or not, if one allows enough stopping room, then stock brakes should...- -FROG-

There was already an RTV type sealer on the valve cover baffles from the factory. I had to cut it all off to remove the baffle for the AN Fitting installation. I replaced it with high heat RTV. I honestly think the only reason the RTV is there is to stop vibration / ratteling on the baffle. They...- -FROG-
