    Mine were coated headers, I didn't have cats or mufflers (resonators only), on a 3" side-pipe conversion GTS and still had an issue.

    Belangers w/o shields. No problems till I drove from Dallas to Vegas and was then stuck in traffic on the strip (July)... Smelt something burning, like electrical, pulled over, searched the entire engine compartment to find the bottom of the A/C fresh air box had a hole melted in in about 1"X1.5".

    I think that if my red ACR were built, I'd be lowering Woodhouses inventory right now! ;) Heeeeeeey, maybe that's it... They should move Classic Red to the front of the remaining production schedule; so that the 1st quarter sales would be AWESOME!! I'm glad you thought of that :D

    I would say, If there is no possibility of selling either vehicle in the next few years, mod your '06. If you will/would trade/sell either, go for the '08 w/o mods; then you'll at least have the performance with warranty. I feel like the mods will loose value just as much as the depreciation...

    That was the very concern that I had; as I was one of the 1st Z06. After battling with myself for two weeks, I firmed up my order with Bill P. on an '08 ACR. I'd rather have a bird in hand than 2 in the bush. Who's to say that with the upcoming MPG requirements, new leadership/investment, etc...

    Even though the screws are sheetmetal & not machined, loc-tite has always worked for me. Or, you could use clear silicone.
