GEN IV ~100lbs of downforce @150mph... GEN IV ACR ~1000lbs downforce @150mph. The GEN V will be much closer to the 100lb number than the 1000lb number. No way will it touch the ACR other than acceleration and top speed IMO.
The more I see any of the gen IV colors the more I like all of them; bright blue comes to mind as a color I wouldn't have considered normally but is gorgeous in person. I think many of the 'critics' will feel the same about the color you end up with.
I think both look better in person than in pictures. For me VVO is the "perfect" orange and SSG is also very good. Both can change colors in different lighting and are unique. I'm sure not everyone will like the colors but not everyone likes the Viper either. I'd go with your gut.
Were any of these ACR wheels ever anodized or have they always been gloss black? I don't know why I have that in my head; perhaps some aftermarket version.
The official IMSA entry list has not been posted yet however when I talked to them at Road America they were not planning on attending the VIR race. This could have changed since then.
I ended up going with the zinc coated rotors which seems well suited to how I'll use them. The hats can always be refinished if they start to look bad.
Wanted to close the loop here with what I learned:
The DRK (now called ARK, which stands for "AeroRotor Replacement Kit") part numbers you listed below are correct for your 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 coupe. Optional zinc plating is available.
The zinc plating protects the non-swept portions of...
Mike,
Thanks for the information. I already have the stainless lines from Jon ready to install. The upgrade list “while I’m working on the brakes” keeps growing…
GTSR -
Alcon rotors or the entire package?
I’m looking to upgrade my rotors with ACR style 2 piece slotted Stoptech rotors. I know the Mopar ones are available but seem rather expensive (2x the cost of comparable options).
Does anyone have experience with these StopTech kits?

I saw a bright blue gen IV pull in and a darker blue GTS parked there – was that anyone from these forums? It was pretty good just to walk around the parking area - saw 2 Vipers 10+ Ferraris and probably 200+ Corvettes.
Yes – now they restrict air, they are looking to restrict energy (fuel). This might be in the way of fuel flow restriction (same as an air restrictor) or they may just restrict the total fuel given to the teams for the weekend. This may not apply to the GT class though, perhaps only LMP1. It is...
I don’t care either way really but ALMS have the ability to adjust the restrictors mid-season to maintain a “competitive environment”. The Porsche teams recently had a restrictor size change:

“Porsche has updated its 2012 Porsche...
The Viper engine is being restricted just as all other competitor’s engines are. ALMS has extrapolated the restrictor size to the displacement of the V10 beyond what the V8s have. They had no pre-defined restrictor size set for this engine displacement with the current formula. The restrictors...
Give them time - they are up against a big challenge coming in mid-season like this with a new car even if they have had some testing already. It's not really a measure of the potential of the car especially compared to the other cars who have been tweaking on their cars for quite some time now.
I looked at the ad months ago but Oregon was too far away for me to consider making a serious offer. The car seems to be very nice and well done but it was unclear to me if this was an ACR or what exact modifications had been done to the car (and by who) if it started life as a regular coupe. It...
I told her about the kiss, she said it was a bite! No big deal, she was more worried about hitting the sills and door with her shoes. It is definitely a blast to drive though.
Tonight was the first major drive around town in more populated areas in the Viper. Noticed tons of people taking pictures, rubbernecking, waving.... Wife's legs got burned getting out. So all in all the car lives up to what everyone here said it would. I was forced to use the AC because it was...
I have a clear bra and if you look closely you can see the seams. It also is damaged in a few areas. Not 100% perfect upon close inspection. From a few feet it isn't noticeable. I would much rather have the option to replace the clear bra entirely or in sections vs. knowing the only option was...
Once I decided I wanted a Viper I scrutinized every generation because looks were an important factor for me. After close examination of each generation side-by-side I landed on the gen IV specifically because I loved the look of the rear and angled vents (straight lines?). I don’t like the gen...
