I too looked at just about every sports car out there, even the 911 turbo, and the viper left me with a very easy decision.
I've had mine 5 days, put 150 miles on it the first weekend as well. My only problem is that I will not park the car anywhere public for anything more than 5 minutes for...
Personally, I find the SRT very easy to drive. I tend to drive one handed (with my right hand on the gearshift, not on the cellphone) and have no problem.
The 3 things that kept me from really looking at the vette were the lack of exclusivity, no convertible and the markup from the dealers.
I...
I test drove a 2002 GTS back to back with a 2004 SRT. I ended up buying the SRT. I like the looks of the Gen I/II better, but this is just a better car. The brakes are outstanding and it is easier to drive at low speed. When you step on the power there is still plenty of it, but the cam is set...
The bentley actually has a very low coefficient of drag, even though it is a big car it slips through the air much more efficiently than the viper. We have the aerodynamics of a brick. The coupe should do better.
Also, in this months R&T they did the standing mile. The winner was a viper TT...
Thanks, I was worried that red was the fastest color. How much horsepower does a NOS sticker add?
What adds more torque a heffner logo or a "supercharger" sticker?
An added bonus: My buddy with the Ferrari 348 just told me he was jealous!!!
You want to be just past the contact point, any further is wasted effort. That being said, a little further will add the extra measure of safety, just in case you are little off, so you don't grind the gears.
Thanks again guys, as I said - this is going to be a very long couple of days.
As I live on a pretty crowded street, I think I may meet the delivery in a parking lot nearby. I don't want to be overly cramped and not have the right amount of room to get the car out properly. Plus, it's not...
Thanks all. You mean a fire sale isn't a bad thing?
NoNercy, I will give you a good "hooah" to your "semper fi." Hey, nobody's perfect.
Since I am military (infectious disease specialist at Walter Reed) I don't pay DC income taxes as I list my permanent address as my parents house in NY...
Sorry to dissapoint, but I actually live about 200 yards inside the DC border (chevy chase, DC). My wife and I are originally from NYC and need to have that city feel. We are 100 ft from the friendship heights metro.
I plan on joining the local VCA group, so hopefully I will get a chance to...
When I was in high school we lowered cars by taking a blow torch to the spring. I know, not very responsible, but I don't think it is that much worse than cutting the spring.
There is careful engineering in the springs and different sections are designed to compress at different rates. Cutting...
On another note, to all you 1/4 mile junkies, what can I expect with those mods?
It worked out really well as having those mods already allows me to get them past my wife. She really isn't very into the modding scene, especially after I lied to her, and then got caught, about how much I paid...
To make a long story short, mainly on the advice from this board, I got in contact with Bill Pemberton (great guy) and am purchasing a 2004 SRT-10, with K&N intake, borla exhaust, a 3/4 inch drop and a 3.73 rear.
Can I get an amen brother!
Thanks Ron, and I'm sure you and I will be meeting in the near future. Right now I am sticking with the 03-04's in black with black interior. I'm not really into the Mamba or copperhead editions.
I kind of doubt he is in the tax bracket that would heavily benefit from donating the car to charity.
The best bet is for him to insure it and park it on the railroad tracks 2 blocks away (after shoving a screw driver in the ignition of course).
Please forgive the stupid question, but is there any difference between the 03 and 04 models?
I was planning on getting a Gen II, so all my research was in that area. Now that I drove the Gen III, my mind has been changed.
I went to look at a 2002 GTS this weekend and they had a red 2004 with 4k miles as well. I test drove them both and decided I liked the SRT-10 much better.
Well, somehow or another my wife actually agreed to me getting one  but stated that red will not be happening. Which is OK as I...
Has anyone ever purchased a car from Premier Sportscars Co? How was the experience?
http://www.premiercars.com/Inventory
They seem overpriced from the web site, but they are a dealer so that is to be expected.
