Gen V Composite Intake Manifold on a Gen IV

Would the change over affect warranty and emissions and be accounted for by the factory ECU?

    Finally drove the SRT viper

Not sure, it seems like it is a big deal to you actually. This is just me but I would not use a propane powered delivery truck for any comparisons to a sports car unless something bugged me or if I was trying to make an annoyance more dramatic. I see Mustang exhaust sound coming up among...

Tested: 2013 SRT Viper vs 2008 ACR Viper

Nine Ball, curious why you went from Gen 3 to 5, skipping Gen 4.

LED lights added to headlight assembly

Did you miss the pics of the green viper up on top of this thread? Someone opened up these headlights and installed the green halos in the headlights already. I am very cautious because if someone messes up, it will be a very expensive mistake due to replacement lenses not being available for...

    Finally drove the SRT viper

If I recall from my 09 Z06, the exhaust was pretty quiet actually, until NPP kicked in. Never understood people concerned with the way exhaust sounds in lieu of how the car accelerates and handles. Each to their own I guess.

My second round of mods-Car is going to RSI

That was just an opinion. Ultimately, you will do what you think is right for you.

Hit a snag with front speakers

So where was I? Oh, trying to figure out how to install larger door speakers flush just like the factory. Seems like I finally am set to do it, gotta wait for more capacitors for the door speakers to high pass them at 100 Hz to reduce distortion and put the available power to better use. I...

10g to spend on winter project (engine)

Why not buy a couple of tickets and save the rest? Or maybe buy something you can take off the car when you are ready to move on to Gen 4? Your car has a few miles on it, any add ons may stress the engine too much and you will be needing another 10k to rebuild it. Sounds like you have a kick...

My second round of mods-Car is going to RSI

If you bring the car back on a trailer and let someone else finish it, you open a big can of worms. For one thing, you will release RSI from any liability for their work and for what they have done. If the other guy messes up, he will blame it on RSI and RSI will blame it on him and you will...

Hit a snag with front speakers

I would not cut, as you said, you will end up recessing the speakers even more while they really should be raised. If you ditched the factory filters that were in the tweeter harnesses, yes, it should sound better since you effectively raised your stage and allowed the imaging to play out...

Holes covered by tape in rear hatch of 2009 Coupe

Is it possible that Chrysler recycled the hatch from the previous area and just drilled new holes to make it fit on Gen 3 and 4? Both hatches look very similar.

Hit a snag with front speakers

LOL, you said it. Yes, it is very frustrating that there is no room at all on passenger side. Since the locations are very good and factory aiming is almost spot on, the most logical solution is to make risers for the dash pods and set the grills higher, to allow for sufficient clearance. It...

    Looking for dash tweeter grills

For my audio project. If anyone has them, please let me know.

So what are you thinking regarding the grills? I need to do something so this will fit because it sounds very good to me...

    Door panel removal

The plug is there, at least in my car. Yes, I was nervous lifting up the panel from the bottom, did not have to get the panel off and was watching that top strip. I actually checked out those clips up on top, they seem to hold pretty tight. I am glad I do not have to get the panel completely...

    My turn...

OK, this is over three months now and even though I am very reluctant to write this, I guess it is what it is. After waiting for three months, I have absolutely nothing to show. Considering one of the parts was a tonneau cover, pretty soon it will be no use due to weather. At this time, the...

Hit a snag with front speakers

So... here is a few pics of my door explorations. I used the stock mounting rings as a template. I'll be messing with MDF tomorrow...

Hit a snag with front speakers

Yeah, I was wondering since not too many manufs use 28mm. Did you aim them or lay them flat? I see the slot in the bottom of the opening make things very difficult. Not sure what is up with this since there is plenty of room on the driver side.

    Door panel removal

LOL, it is only pretty easy when you know how to get them out, good thing I somehow figured this out after failed attempt with clip puller. :D

    Door panel removal

Well, good thing I did not mess up my door panels, it was a close with the plastic clips. There is a trick to them, to push the center pin in and then, they come out easy. I did not see this part mentioned anywhere although I saw someone suggesting to drill them out. Live and learn I guess...

Hit a snag with front speakers

The door speakers are doable, I finally figured out what to do and reusing factory grills is the best option. However, cannot use the screws going through those grills, this should be interesting, LOL. I'll post some pics later, have to make replacement spacers to swap the OEM mounting...

Hit a snag with front speakers

I do not think Kenwood makes any tweeters of this size, I already heard what my set up would sound like, I have no choice but to press on, LOL.

    Finally drove the SRT viper

Have you checked the grille on new Dodge Dart? The chrome trim looks a lot like the one on new Viper. Good thing the headlights are borrowed from Ferrari, no need to hate that part, LOL.

Tested: 2013 SRT Viper vs 2008 ACR Viper

No hostility on my part at all. The fact that Gen 5 is faster and easier to drive than previous generation has already been well documented by Gilles and variety of automotive magazines. The car is lighter, has better gearing and more horsepower, if it did not, then there would be a problem...
