Show your coolest license plates!
Yeah... that is positively the coolest garage I've seen. So simple. So clean. Nice plate too! My favorite plate I've seen (it was in a photograph) was FKRZFST on a Corvette. I can't justify putting that on my own car as much as I wanted to. I just got regular-people plates for the Viper...- mtmclaughlin

New owner 2002 Final edition, ive been bitten!
Yeah, it's weird when people film you as you're... driving to work... But they don't know that. They saw a neat car! I still plant my face to my window when other Vipers (or other cool cars) drive by. Even when I'm in mine. :)- mtmclaughlin

WTB: 2nd Generation RT/10 or GTS
I'm curious though, now that the GTS came into the discussion. What would a 1996 or 1997 GTS be worth in ratty, high-mileage (but 100% functional) condition? Something to be used exclusively at the track.- mtmclaughlin

You're opening your horizons a bit now which should make it easier for you to find something. Careful about letting your budget creep up. Don't let emotion toy with logic. If you figured out that $30,000 was the highest you'd pay for a Viper, don't cave and jump up to $40,000 because it'll hurt...- mtmclaughlin

Please help with air conditioning
Does it feel really cold, or just cooler than the air in the cabin? Have your system checked to make sure it is not leaking. It could just be low on refrigerant.- mtmclaughlin

Dude, if you're looking for us to say "buy generation I (or II) because it is a logical, rational choice", you will never get an answer. Buying a Viper of any generation is far from logical and definitely not rational if your objective is transportation. I would defer you to the Toyota Prius...- mtmclaughlin

Gen 2 worth the money even if Gen 1 is modded?
I bought a Gen I on purpose. I like side pipes, removable windows, and no exterior door handles. Also, I like the three spoke wheels. If you want glass windows and exterior door handles, you might consider a Gen II. You're going to love whatever you choose though, so enjoy the hunt for the right...- mtmclaughlin

Is 1500 rpm ok for cruising in 6th gear?
OK, truth. Buuuuuut..... other than great gas mileage (hah, well... great is a matter of perspective eh?), there's a hidden bonus to this. Driving the car like a slow car helps you forget how damn fast it really is. Then, when you do your "Hang on, watch this!" run it's all the sweeter...- mtmclaughlin

Is 1500 rpm ok for cruising in 6th gear?
My manual suggests 50 or 55 (I can't remember which one) for 6th gear usage. It's burbling along pretty happily at around 1,000 RPMs there.- mtmclaughlin

Shelby GT500 to Viper...
I love my first generation. I bought a 1994 RT/10 from a member here and drove it from Michigan to Baltimore the same day with my dad. There isn't much to it, but the things it does have are great (like an interior light, and a radio). Having to snap the windows in and out of it hasn't gotten...- mtmclaughlin

Knowing what you're buying is important. You seem to be doing your research and that is the most important part of this whole thing.
