Is this gap in the pic normal bwtween the hood and front bumper by the headlamp?

It looks wide to me, the gap just to the outside on mine is about 3/16th to 1/4 inch. It should say how wide the gap should be in a Viper body manual, they list all the body gaps. I've got one somewhere, just don't remember where I put it. Anyone else have one handy? A pic of my car from the...

    Help! I need a driverside pipe...more..

It may sound like an unlikely source, but the flex pipes like the factory ones are available from JC Whitney. They're stainless steel and available in dipe diameters from 1.75 to 3 inch. They're on page 195 of the newest catalog (just came in the mail). The part numbers are 47ZZ1760T for the...

    CATS or no CATS?

For the most part, just about every emissions testing program I've seen is more about $$$$$$$$$$$ money than really cleaning the air up. In Missouri if your car doesn't pass and you go to a "Recommended service repair garage" after you spend the required amount of money,if it still doesn't pass...

    gen 1 1/4 mile times

I would reccommend just driving through the water box and then doing a quick dry hop burnout just to spin the water out of the tires (rear tires at 22 psi). This was reccommeded by Tom Welch. If you're not sure on the best procedure for launching at the drag strip buy BTR Vipers DVD "How to...

Hi Tony! If it's like all the other DC connections, I believe you have to push in on a tab (I think it's on the lower half in your pic) to release the connector.

Best Way to get off the Line?

First off, Buy the BTR (Tom's) Video! I got a copy of it at the Gateway VCA Christmas party's club auction. Lots of great info on it. What has worked best for me (in the video) is to come off the line about 1500 rpm and ease the clutch in quickly (avoiding wheelspin) and floor it at that...

Borla + Sean Roe cats installed!

It is louder now than with the cats, it isn't too bad except when the hardtop is on. Then the droning gets pretty annoying fast. That's the one downfall of a side exhaust car. I never really noticed any smell from it running too rich, my car seem to run on the lean side from what my dyno runs show.

First Day of Repairs for Leaking Head Gaskets!

Sometimes you can get away with just doing headgaskets on a GEN 1 and it will cure the coolant leaks, but sometimes it takes more. Frank may disagree, but to me the Extended Warranty is some thing I wouldn't want to live without on a Viper (If at all possible). It was the best money I ever...

    2002 Raffle Winner!

It would be a tough decision for me to make. Would I drive it, or trade/sell it to get a 2003. I love the looks of the Gen 2 GTS body style and the Blue & Silver is a great combo to me, but a true convertible (fold down top) like the 2003 would be awesome to have too. Decisions, Decisions!

    Tips on Exhaust Upgrades - 94 RT/10

Glasspack muffler 101. When choosing a glasspack muffler you do have to check out how the muffler is made. The reason that I went with the Thrush brand was that they use a perforated 2.5 inch tube through the core (low restriction), basicly a series of holes in the 2.5 inch core pipe. Some...

    Tips on Exhaust Upgrades - 94 RT/10

It all depends on what noise level your ears can handle. I too thought the stock exhaust was way too quiet and had no real performance sound to it. The first change was to replace the stock mufflers with glasspack mufflers (Thrush). This gave it a much lower throatier growling sound. Some...
