You might want to check with the GEN I guys because they will have more info than me on the motor. I know that the GEN II motor is different and a much better platform to build.
Yes I do, you again make yourself look bad. You don't know me but you automatically assume I don't know what I'm talking about? LMAO I'm going to leave this one alone. This is all you can say in a response to my statement? YOU are the one that doesn't know what you are talking about. Cars...
Car currently sits at 680RWHP...what do you think it was making with a smaller cam and milder headwork? I'll bet that car picked up 80 RWHP from it's original state over 7 years ago. So, I could see a car picking up quite a few MPH (like 7) with 80 more RWHP, a better powerband/torque curve...
Hey 1badgts, you are talking about a car's times from 10 years ago. STFU. If you don't think a properly driven 680RWHP N/A Viper full weight, full suspension, non open header can trap over 135 then you clearly need help/education. You can blah blah blah about all your track experience but...
Those are magazine comparisons and are the most unreliable way to judge how fast a car is except for it's top speed. The same magazines also said the 1996 GTS can only run mid 12's. :lmao:
I have personally witnessed the Stealth lose many times against the LT1 Vettes.
If you got a little time, I would post them up for sale and leave the combo up to the buyer! You would probably get hits fast this way because it would mean someone could get a nice set of forgelines done the exactly way they want them! You could even charge a little extra for the re-finish...
Can you post pics of the scratches you are talking about? If they are only minor (as in, hardly noticable until you're a few inches away) then I would think the car would be worth 27-30K. Like Bill stated, there were not that many RT's built in 98 and both tops are a huge plus in resale value.
I will update my profile. I wasn't trying to low ball the Viper. But 40K for a 97 is more than 99.9% of Viper owners would pay unless it was extremely low mileage. Thats all I was trying to say. I would be pissed if I came on a site with experts on Vipers, had everyone tell me that 40K was a...
LOL I wasn't stereotyping anyone! I simply asked why a 2001 ACR would be worth over 60K and I got accused of not owning a Viper, not knowing anything about them, and something to do with sheep. :lmao:
I apologize for the thread hijack (and will not do it anymore) but I just wanted to...
I'll get you his phone number if you want it. PM me.
No my friends do not post up here. They are not VCA members, not really avid car guys. They just like Vipers lol. You would be surprised how many Viper owners are not members here or on the alley. I know 3 personally.
Do I know the...
A sheep? Hmmm, not sure what that means but then again I'm not on these sites long enough to pick up the lingo. Good luck getting 60K for that car, I really hope you do. I saw a 2001 ACR a couple months ago sell for 50K and it had 7600 miles, came with 18 inch HRE's, the stock ACR tires, and...
Sorry, I have been working like crazy lately but thank you for correcting my grammar. It seems all those years of higher education that I have don't mean **** huh?:lmao:
Oh and BTW, I'm far from making a blanket statement. Two of my friends are car dealers. They don't work at Toyota...
Maybe I am crazy because I am missing something here. Is your 01 ACR stock? Because if it is and someone offered you 55K for it, I am puzzled as to why you didn't except it! A 2001 ACR even with less than 10K miles is not worth any where near that amount...
:lmao::lmao: You have absolutly no idea if the Viper (especially the GTS) is going to go up or down in value. You also have no hard proof that the Viper is going away in 2010.
The funniest thing is you saying that the Viper not being built anymore is a reason it will not go up in value...
The Gen II cars from 96-99 had forged internals. The other cars did not. If you have a 2003, as long as you are not getting crazy with mods, you should be fine for a few. I know a couple people with head/cam Gen III's with no problems.
Just out of curiousity, I noticed that you have been...
Got mine done for about $70. The guy has been aligning cars for 30 years and has done quite a few Vipers. I watched him do the entire thing and I don't understand what the big deal is. He got around the bumper just fine. He did have new Gemini (I think that was the name) equipment so I'm not...
Really? I've had a pretty agressive street cam in my GTS for over a year now and it runs like a top in humid or cool weather. As long as it's done right, it should be fine.
Sounds like a fun project! I am going to offer some of the same advice that you have already got. If you are going to go to the trouble of swapping a cam, I would go with something more than just a factory 708. You don't have to go all out, but I would get a nice aftermarket street cam. You...
That is seriously one of the best Vipers I have ever seen and definaately the cleanest engine bay! BTW, love the valve covers...I have the exact same ones on my car :)
