X2. Nelson is a very respected shop. I would do what plumcrazy said and contact them and tell them what that mechanic said. Was the engine purpose built (like lowered compression for boost maybe?)? Also if a modded engine is untuned or has a $hitty tune, that will rob a lot of HP as well.
One word of advice...be patient! If you want a B/W GTS, be patient and you will find one within or close to your budget. I still look at ebay, autotrader, here, the alley, and other places just to see whats out there for sale. There have been a few B/W's pop up for really reasonable pricing...

I don't have an answer to that. But I can tell you that I have been to some of the top shops in the country (Lingenfelter, Livernois, DynoTek, which tunes the NASCAR guys when they are in town) and they all pull in the gear with the closest ratio to 1:1. I have never heard of a dyno shop not...
It has nothing to do with any of that. It's about gear ratio's, thats it. The 1:1 gear will give the most accurate reading on a dyno.
I have no idea what you mean by comfortable tire speed on a dyno. My Gen II has the exact same tire height that a Gen III/IV has and many other Vipers do...

Yeah very true. I think some people flew off the handle not realize that I have a black/black 199 GTS with a bunch of custom/performance mods. I love my car, it's just the Italian supercars are better IMHO. :D
