I meant to post this a few months ago but forgot! If anyone is interested there are a lot of home made videos of some of our members at our autocross event last September and a few other Viper videos as well. Our web page is a work in progress but I hope to do more with it soon.
If you are...
Sold my '86 911 and bought a Gen I ('94 RT/10) and couldn't be happier. Got tired of getting beat by Corvette's etc, that doesn't happen any more. My Porsche was reasonably reliable but had a few issues that were constant headaches. My Viper has been perfect without a problem (knock on wood)...
A viper Engine on a bike! I've been waiting until there was a bike I really liked before buying one, no I've found it. Unfortunately I'd be surprised if this thing ever gets produced.

I think the G-tech (I have the old one though) and the Mustang Dyno's give similar numbers. Both are considerably lower than a Dynojet gives. For example, it's been a while since I used it but I think it showed 344 HP on the G-tech and I'm quite sure a Dynojet would be higher. Anyone dyno on...
I agree with GTS Bruce, its a percentage thing. I have done mods that apparently bumped HP by 15 and didn't feel them. I changed exhaust and "think" I felt that (probably a 30 HP boost). But when you are starting at over 400 it is a small percentage. It's all relative, if you had a 15 HP...
I'm starting to think Gen I's must have had stiffer clutches or a few of them do. Because my clutch is very stiff. I guess I'm a wuss and have chicken legs! To be honest, I don't mind that it is stiff because I find it easier to use for drag racing and autocross, etc than if it was too light...
Thanks Tom, but I still can't find the stuff on their web sites. I'm looking for the actual starter box equipment, tree, sensors for 60 ft, 1000 ft, 1/8th mile, etc..

On a final note, are you using stock gears? Higher numerical gears have been known to skew dyno numbers down a bit.

Tom, I swapped to 3.55 gears and had a lower HP than I...
I'm looking to buy a new or used drag racing setup for our local Viper Club. I haven't had any luck on the web so wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. We have rented an airport strip in the past and rented drag timing equipment but we would like to buy now.

Check the fuel pressure at max hp. The fuel pressure pick up is on the rear of the drivers side fuel runner. You may have to take off the lower windshield fascia to attach the gauge. It should hold at...
Is there some kind of backflow valve that keeps the pressure from blowing back out the filter? Otherwise its just like having a regular Nitrous spray isn't?
Thanks Matt, that's perfect, that is the kind of comparisons I'm looking for. That way I can start to calculate the percentage difference between the two on average.

Think about it this way.. if a driveline in a 500hp car "steals" 75hp all due to friction, that's 75hp of heat generated - about 56kW. That would have your car on fire in seconds...
I had a similar question in the dyno topic section. Does that mean that those of us with 3.55s should use a gear like 5th? That seems a little extreme but would that now be closer to 1:1? I had very disappointing numbers on my dyno and I'm looking for answers because the dyno doesn't match my...
I've dragged on cool days (50 degrees in the early morning) and it certainly isn't as good as when the track is hot. Drag radials seem tricky. If enough guys go ahead of you and heat up the launch pad and you get a serious burnout you should do OK. The cool air will help the HP so maybe that...
I've posted a question in the dyno section under http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum7/HTML/000694.html
I'm posting here hoping to get more responses because something is wrong. If you've dyno'd on a Mustang Dynamometer or have any opinions I'd appreciate your response. Thanks.
Thanks a lot Ken, I appreciate the response. Mine are more than disappointing, I think something is very wrong. My car dyno'd 322 RWHP and 382 torque. I think the torque numbers are reasonable but the HP seems very low. They did dyno it with the hood open, left it idling forever and it was...
I have 3.55 gear change. Does that affect dyno results? My understanding is that 4th gear is the 1:1 ratio which is why it is used for dyno testing. The dyno place I am taking my car to says it doesn't matter if the rear end is changed. I find that hard to believe and I guess I don't...
Has anyone dyno'd on a Mustang Dyno? It supposedly gives lower numbers than a Dynojet. Anyone's numbers on a Mustang Dynamometer would be greatly appreciated.
What should I expect to Dyno on a \'94 RT?
Does anyone have dyno results for a stock '94? I'm going to dyno mine and have a few mods and wondering what others have dyno'd. BTW, the only dyno close to me is a "Mustang Dynamometer". It is apparently conservative versus a Dynojet so if anyone...
Gerald, follow Tony's instructions except instead of picking "View Matching Front...", look a little lower and there is a tiny link to "Optional" 18 inch tires. Click on that and it shows the ones you are looking for.
How do the Kumhos compare to the new Michelin Pilot Sports. I just put the...
Thanks Ulyssess, but I don't know if the '94s have a time delay? My light used to go off immediately on door close. So I'm thinking my system is simpler. I didn't get a chance today but hopefully on the weekend I can try some of your ideas.
I made a wooden (covered with fabric) bracket that mounts over top of the amp (I too have one in there where the spare tire is supposed to be). It screws down with the tire wing nut thing already there and then I mounted my Nitrous and Propane assist bottles on top of that. It works well and...
