I have a feeling that if the Viper went to fuel cell technology for a Gen V, a majority of owners on this forum would be buying up previous generation Vipers instead of the Gen V. I know I would. No thanks, I'll stick with my archaic "100 year old" engine technology. I love my pistons....all...
Yes, that's a bit sarcastic on the computer comment. It barely interferes. In fact, I did a little fish tail last night with it FULL ON....and you can easily turn it all off.
I am a Gen II lover as well....have several. Went to a dinner last night....chose the Gen V....went to pickup...
Wow, nice pics! Thanks for posting! I really like the GTS stripes on the SRT hood. Even though I have a GTS, I think I still favor the SRT hood with the additional vents.
Did they have a fully built TA, or just a partial on the assembly line?
As for that white interior, wow, that is a...
The more power to you Chris!!! VIR was a BIG TIME BUST on SRT's part!!! And with SRT charging $140 per person and $255 for two, wires must have been crossed somewhere. I could see one hiccup or two, but VIR was pure misrepresentation and all the facts you listed above were TRUE. I was glad I...
All of those vehicles appear to be under 50K and general everyday vehicles. They must have some criteria based on list price of the vehicle and maybe volume of sales. Now, if it was "One of the Most 5 American Iconic Cars", I bet the Viper would be in the list.....at least I would hope. :)
Despite my pre-ownership concerns, I definitely don't feel the Gen V has lost its rawness despite all the technology additions and changes. I agree with Nine Ball in that improving the quality and fit finish of the interior/electronics doesn't detract from the rawness feel of the Gen V. Being...
As already mentioned, there were definitely some mistakes with the marketing, delivery, and the dealership mess. But I have to say, with 3K+ miles on it, I am loving this Gen V the more I drive it. I've had all generations and out of ALL of them, the Gen II has ALWAYS been my favorite car to...
Not to hijack, but I never thought much of the lighter blue shade until I saw your ACR. That thing was SICK!!! I was seriously considering it to be honest.
Well, it was HOT, but a nice day. This is the first time I have ever attended one of these races and really enjoyed it. There were 5 Vipers in attendance. SRT provided a corral parking, a great lunch, and we got to hang out in the air conditioned hospitality lounge. The only problem I had...
Sold my SSG to get a Gen V. Love the Gen V, but miss my SSG badly. Looking for another SSG so if you don't buy it, send me the details. :)
Don't worry about the attention. ALL Vipers draw attention and the SSG is simply one of those cars you could stare at all day. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks....funny thing is I stopped looking for a while. One day my phone rings and it was Tom Sessions who heard through the grapevine I was looking for one and "knew a guy". Car was still in the wrapper....50 miles on it....couldn't pass it up. Yes, definitely worth the wait Chelsea. :)
Thanks for placing on the website Chris! Glad everyone like it....so many pictures to post and this "captures the moment". :)
Feel free to post any pictures any of you have though! The non-Viper owner from Tennessee that visited us (Eli) took a bunch of photos. He sent me a teaser...
If you compare apples to apples, the SRT Viper is a little more money than the outgoing Gen IV.....and I think it is worth it. However, the price of the car is over $100K no matter how you look at it which probably detered some. I kind of like the SRT stripes, but I bet some were disappointed...
Okay, I'll upload my photos into Photobucket, but since there were so many shots, I went ahead and created a video. Excuse the background music as I couldn't use copywrighted material. :)
I have high resolution shots of all of these so if there are any you would like, feel free to shoot me an...
WOW! WOW! WOW! I'm with Angel. This event was up there with the slaying the dragon. Thank you Chris and Stepanie for the superb planning and execution of this event!!! Janelle and I had a BLAST and it was really awesome to see some new members such as Mike, Terri, Patrick, and Brittany. I'm...
