I have a feeling that if the Viper went to fuel cell technology for a Gen V, a majority of owners on this forum would be buying up previous generation Vipers instead of the Gen V. I know I would. Yes, that's a bit sarcastic on the computer comment. It barely interferes. In fact, I did a little fish tail last night with it FULL ON....and you can easily turn it all off. I am a Gen II lover as well....have several. Went to a dinner last night....chose the Gen V....went to pickup...- Brian GTS

So the Viper isn't one of the 5 Most american cars???
All of those vehicles appear to be under 50K and general everyday vehicles. They must have some criteria based on list price of the vehicle and maybe volume of sales. Now, if it was "One of the Most 5 American Iconic Cars", I bet the Viper would be in the list.....at least I would hope. :)- Brian GTS

Despite my pre-ownership concerns, I definitely don't feel the Gen V has lost its rawness despite all the technology additions and changes. As already mentioned, there were definitely some mistakes with the marketing, delivery, and the dealership mess. But I have to say, with 3K+ miles on it, I am loving this Gen V the more I drive it. Cheer on SRT's Viper GTSR during the ALMS @ VIR! Oct 5th
Well, it was HOT, but a nice day. This is the first time I have ever attended one of these races and really enjoyed it. There were 5 Vipers in attendance. Gotta ask...
Sold my SSG to get a Gen V. Love the Gen V, but miss my SSG badly. Looking for another SSG so if you don't buy it, send me the details. :) Don't worry about the attention. ALL Vipers draw attention and the SSG is simply one of those cars you could stare at all day. You won't be disappointed.- Brian GTS

Thanks....funny thing is I stopped looking for a while. One day my phone rings and it was Tom Sessions who heard through the grapevine I was looking for one and "knew a guy". Car was still in the wrapper....50 miles on it....couldn't pass it up. Yes, definitely worth the wait Chelsea. :)- Brian GTS

If you compare apples to apples, the SRT Viper is a little more money than the outgoing Gen IV.....and I think it is worth it. However, the price of the car is over $100K no matter how you look at it which probably detered some. I kind of like the SRT stripes, but I bet some were disappointed...- Brian GTS
