6 months ago when I had missed out on ordering a Viper and thought there was no way I'd be able to get one this year (pretty funny now looking back at my anxiety over it how that mess has turned out for everyone) I looked long and hard at a glass roof GT500. Half of my cars in the past have...
I've never driven a single Porsche so my opinion is only based on visuals. To me every Porsche looks exactly the same, just add a few extra vents or ground effects or wings and they're slightly different models. Every time I see one I say 'Eh, a Porsche', not 'OMG It's a GT3'. I have a...
Quick note for those considering this, do it ASAP before you get too many miles on your car. I'm at 850 miles and getting the front, partial hood, and behind the tires professionally installed tomorrow so tonight I just went over those areas to make sure they were very clean. What I found was...
So now that we have a button for launch control, who's actually tried using it? Any luck with it working?
I have not tried it yet nor have I tried launching the car from a stop without it. All WOT pulls I've done have been after I'm already rolling.
Check that the seat belt isn't wedged between the seat and the door. I think mine rattled once because of that but since have not heard anything. I'd also try repositioning the seat, maybe there's something odd about the angle of the back hitting behind the seat that's causing it.
Car looks great!
It's funny you mention those scrapers/feelers. I've decided those things are going to be my safety net for ground clearance. They scrape for a split second when I enter my driveway so I'm familiar with the sound, so now I just listen for that everywhere to know if I'm being...
It shouldn't even need a heat gun. Some fishing line behind the letters should take it off quickly, and with the car being so new I wonder if you'll even have any tape residue.
If you're looking for a track only car you might be right. Mechanically not much has changed so you may as well go with the cheaper alternative.
To me the 13 is so much more than that though. When you look at the classics that have aged beautifully they have it all. Powerful engine and...
Is my post invisible to you? The 08 dyno'd an hour after I did. Temps went up by 4* with no other changes in humidity or pressure between my run and the 08.
A few more details:
- Torque on Run 1 was 485 and Run 2 it was 492.
- Both pulls were with the hood closed
- The shop only had a small fan, one that blew air into the radiator. A big one providing some cool fresh air for the intake would have been nice, but not available.
I've been too busy with work this week to post my own thread, but last weekend I had mine dyno'd (on a Dynojet) with 600 miles on it. The results were odd, the first pull was 506 and pull #2 increased to 529. It seems like something caused timing to be pulled on run 1 but I have no idea what...
Agreed with the last two posters. I feel like I'm slamming the trunk to get it to close, otherwise it doesn't latch all the way down. This one takes more force than any other car I've owned.
Re: DV400069 Is home....
Beautiful car!
And I think inside that bag is supposed to be the radar detector power wire that you can hook up to the rear view mirror.
Last week I ordered a 3' x 2' piece of Xpel Ultimate with the intention of of using it on the door sills. I just finished the install this afternoon and I must say it was a huge success! When I picked up the car I immediately had the aluminum VIPER door sill plates installed (GTS has these...
I have Invo's on my daily driver and they're an ok tire. Not great, not terrible. It's a 375 rwhp G8 GT with 285/35/19s in the rear and during the first 5k miles of life they hold up great. After that they lose their grip and will spin easily from a stop. With the power the Viper is making I...
To confirm then, you don't think they made any programming changes that would allow the PCM to increase timing on it's own past the minimum 91 octane? I've always filled my cars up w/ 93 but there's a station about 10 miles away with 100. If SRT was smart with the new PCMs and it would take...
Awesome ride. The gunmetal stripes work so perfect with black it's amazing. And I'm jealous of your red/black interior. I wish SRT would have offered up that interior on the base cars, even if the red center console and door pieces would have been done in fau leather like the rest of the dash...
