Not the radio itself, but the accompanying speakers are HEAVY.4 high-end mid-range speakers with integrated tweeters could easilyweigh at least 20 lbs, with another 10-15 lbs for the subwoofer. I wouldn't go as far to say that 30-35 lbs would make or break the Viper's performance, but to say...

Anybody else recognize these seats, currently being used in the Jeep "stitch" concept?
btw, can't get the pic to work, just posting the link
I think the next color option in store for the Gen V will be a matte silver... Ralph said sometihng a while back about new colors.. an orange and a nice matte color. We've seen the orange now, we just have to see what he's talking about next!
What they should have done was also throw a wet skid pad test in there to show how each car handled under wet conditions... I vividly recall the journalists thrashing the new viper (preprod models nonetheless) on a wet track where there were standing puddles....
From what I've heard from Ralph through publicly-made comments, the ACR is going make the TA look tame by comparison... iirc, the TA's aero kit makes a few hundred extra pounds of downforce; the ACR is supposedly going to be making about 1500 lbs of downforce at Vmax, will likely be shod in...
What are you insinuating when you say "the real stuff" costs an arm and a leg? All cfrp today uses aircraft-quality carbon fibers. That's one of the contributing factors to CFRP's seemingly astronomical cost for what it is (carbon fibers and epoxies)
the reason the hoods are less expensive than the x-brace is simple: they are already producing 1-2000 hoods each year for production vehicles, so the development costs for that are already tied into the cost of the vehicle itself. They have no clue how many of the x-braces they will sell, and...
Lol, you talk like Ferrari knows how to give the best bang for the buck! Most of a new Ferrari IS gimmicks! That's why they need 900 hp to get around a track faster than an ACR!
These photoshoppers baffle me... why would you put Sidewinder tires on the next ACR when Gen V's already come with Sidewinder IIs? (the same wheel design on the GTS-R)
Oh well, let people believe what they want to believe... When the ACR does come out, I'm sure it will strike terror(and perhaps a bit of lust) in to harts everywhere!
This 'rumor' stems entirely from a tongue-in-cheek comment given by Ralph during the reveal... The Viper is already faster than any Ferrari, with fewer horsepower to boot..
Just imagine, more agressive bodywork, 1500 lbs of downforce, R-compound tires, a more adjustable suspension, likely less weight, hopefully brake duct hoses...
New article on the drivesrt site. shows side-by side pics of the GTS and GTS-R, along with a detailed discussion of the styling and engineering that went into the ALMS version of our beloved snake...
They did sell it. The Drag Pack Challenger comes with the v-10 from the viper, 2-speed transmission, stripped interior, etc. Only for offroad use though:{)
