Likewise! Will probably see you are more events in the near future. The Roadster should be a lot of fun!!
26's are great, but alas I am disappointed I didn't get a second session on the slicks. Would have picked up some time. Left a ton of time on the table.
Re: Motor Authority: 2013 SRT Viper: Majority Of Orders Are For Ferrari-Influenced GT
We don't need it to have the same appeal as a Ferrari, or the same Aura. We just need it to mash the Ferrari's into the ground on the track at 1/3 of the price. Ferrar's have been seeing nothing but...
Based on the roster I've seen I think most of the TT grid will be upper-mid 1:30's. A few C5 Vettes (if Nunnally drives and isn't filming all day and Perkins from GA and TX) will run 1:31-1:32, maybe a couple in between. But there are about 4-5 car/driver combos that are capable of mid 1:20's...
Just whatever you do, don't go to the front of the grid if you get there early. Leave some room for the TT guys. There will be some heat at this event, lots of it.
I think they just did not get enough people registered for Solo and therefore are not having a group dedicated to it. I agree with your sentiment though. They really had some momentum going last year. They showed so much potential last year. Don't know what's going on this year.
This is a good point, because even at 160, DF does you no good until you start braking as that 160 is not likely to be turning unless you are at Road Atlanta in Turn 9, or VIR entering the Roller Coaster etc. and even then, you don't need that much DF for those turns.
To your point though, the...
Agree, we will certainly see...
Based on what? They should both run 1:32ish on MPSC. TA ran 1:30.87 on full non-DOT Pirelli slicks, which are fast slicks. It's not going to be close to that on MPSC.
Besides, all of the information also states that the MPSC have gotten faster since they were...
I may just be hard headed, but I do not think the TA is legitimately faster than the Gen IV ACR.
This is just my opinion, but I think the ACR will still have faster times at most tracks. The 10' ACR did not have the luxury of a private test day with setup sessions and Randy Pobst.
I would bet...
2.5 seconds on what track? 2.5 seconds on Laguna would be only 4 tenths or so slower than the Pirelli Slicks. Not sure if I believe that for Laguna. Maybe a longer track with more steady state turning. Either way, it's great that they improved the car with what they had, so now it's...
Change your pads to racing ones that won't transmit as much heat to the fluid, then change your fluid to SRF or Endless, and maybe add some brake cooling ducts. This is a reasonable modification for ANY factory bought performance car that will be tracked hard. Do this and you won't have any...
Agreed, and at this point, a weight advantage is a huge one, so it should definitely be explored. We are at the point of rapidly diminishing to negative returns on hp as you can't put the power to the ground on street tires. Aero DF and Weight should be the top priorities. But weight doesn't...
No, not the ACR, or you will be highly dissappointed again when the new Vette's come out. Why would SRT make only 33 ACR's? Makes one think, did they invent this car after the first debacle to bridge the gap. I don't think anything is embarrassing when you have to get a pre production model...
This is the problem I'm talking about. The ACR-X was doing shakedown runs. It was one of if not the first time they officially tested it, tuning the suspension etc. The X is significantly faster than 1:31, that much I am sure of. I would bet Ralph and the SRT team would tell you that too...
You are changing too many directions to keep up. You respond to my post regarding bench racing asking a question that once I respond to you say is rhetorical. The title of the thread is sub 7:00, so what do you think that would lead people to assume your stance is?
If SRT puts a full fledged...
