Got back to 60 today with a nasty weekend coming. This time the Red Button worked! :drive: Probably the last time for a few months. I actually can't believe I got a chance to get it out in mid January.
Went to hit the red button, but the doors wouldn't open.... :( I guess I waited too long and didn't get the trickle charger plugged in. Probably ran it last on the 23rd. :nono:
Here are a few items off the top of my head, though not specific to '08
With the windows all the way up, they automatically move down about 1/2" when opening the door. When closing they move back up. The window regulators can fail and not properly lower the window. This will cause the glass...
This is the part that is starting to piss me off, if true... and it is hard to see it any other way. I'm a loyal Michelin guy and I'm being penalized by Michelin on this one. :peod:
I think the Gen V transmissions that were available are telling... Better 5th and 6th gearing. So I'm thinking direct injection is all but guaranteed. (Better fuel economy, thus the ability to lower the over drive gearing) Gen 4s were used a mules, so the core is probably very similar.
V10...
I'm not seeing any 08 Vipers all that cheap no matter what the mileage. Higher ones (above 10,000 miles) are dipping into the upper 50's
Gotta ignore the salvage ones the lower the average...
Add me to the happy DirectLift crew. Got mine in April and set it up by myself. Not an easy solo DIY, but a tractor with forks made it possible. It really is fairly easy to set up and adjust, the only issue is the weight of the one runner, which is probably a 4 person lift.
Eh, hire it out.
Who got more for their money? OP who has taken a depreciation hit or say someone with a primo '08 with 2,000 miles?
By my calculations the OP paid about $1.50 per mile driven when you consider insurance, property tax, depreciation, fuel, tire, oil.
That Primo Viper owner? Probably paid $18 a...
We got about 5", though it looks like it will all be melted by tomorrow afternoon.
They didn't kill the roads with salt, but did use it. Actually the worst was some of the parking lots.
I plan to avoid that panic call to JonB for as long as possible! :nono:
I live close enough to WV (no front plate state) that I think the cops don't pay much attention to it here. They could have written at least 50 tickets at the last cars and coffee.
So VDOT pretreated the roads today in Loudoun County, mostly the hills and bridges, but they all have a nice coating of salt now :(
That's cutting off about 6-8 weeks of my planned driving season unless that crap washes off. I've had vehicles destroyed by road salt and I'm not going to let...
I'll also recommend Passport. While not perfect in communication before pickup, my driver was a pro and the tracking system was really nice. Finally, the price was reasonable and there is a VCA discount!
(paid for this year's membership)
Define storage...
I'm thinking it is unlikely my 08 will hit the main streets from the first snow until the last plus a few good salt removing rain storms. If a typical winter, I would assume from late December until April. 3 full months plus. However, I'm sure I'll run it up and down...
I think I'm bitten too...
I almost drove it to pick up a pizza tonight. Frankly, I can't understand why I didn't. The other problem I seem to have is thinking way too much about mods and upgrades. Wheels, paint, gears are all whirling through my head.
That actually looks fairly minor for a deer hit. Glad everyone is ok! I had one of those buggers hit a 2001 Insight I used to drive. The thing nearly knocked me off the road and kept on going. Insight needed $2500 in repairs.
Good Luck.
Good luck with the sale. Looks like a nicely modded '08
BTW, really like the video attached to the ad! Used it to show my wife how a Viper is supposed to be driven. Though it appears she is also complaining about your driving too.... :drive:
