Difference between driving Gen I vs. Gen II

I have a 95 RT (Gen I). Just picked up a 2000 GTS yesterday for a friend and drove it a 150 miles home. I immediately noticed the softer suspension and, lighter clutch feel. It seemed more of a "civilized" driving machine compared to the Gen I, I guess it depends what type of car feel you...

    GEN 1 - QUESTION

The oil dripping is not from the valve covers. In fact, the picture posted above is looks identical to my problem EXCEPT mine is oil not anitifreeze. Again, does anyone think that re-torqueing the headbolts would be a good precaution?

    Inexpensive Rotors?

Just finished installing crossdrilled and slotted rotors on the front with EBC Greens 1/2 hour ago. Rotors are drilled and slotted by Roto-Tech on a CNC Machine using Cad-Cam design for balance and alignment. I purchsed them through PARTS AUTHORITY ([email protected] 1-877-832-0194...

Passenger throttle bracket on gen1 - can't move forward

Re: Passenger throttle bracket on gen1 - can\'t move forward I elongated the holes on the bracket about 1/8" inch and refastened it with star washers to help secure it so it would not move. This did the trick!

    GEN 1 - QUESTION

Thanks for all of the input guys!! Again, the drips I am seeing are definetely oil, not antifreeze. And it appears that they are all but dried up. Any thoughts about checking the torque of the headbolts as a precaution?

    GEN 1 - QUESTION

Changed the oil this weekend. While up on the rack, I inspected the sides of the engine block from underneath for signs of antifreeze seepage from the head gaskets. What I found were small traces of oil that had seeped down the sides near the rear of the engine on each side from the head...

    Grainy windshield !!

Had the same problem on a 79 Mercedes 450-SL. I followed trucks as close as I dared for two years hoping a stone would fly up and break the windshield....no luck. I decided to do the "hammer trick". One week to the day after the new windshield was installed, a rock hit the center area of...

    AMSOIL vs Mobil-1

I have been a MOBIL 1 consumer for years. Recently a good friend became an AMSOIL distributor and told me to check out their webisite (www.amsoil.com). The statistic and testing are undeniably impressive compared to MOBIL 1 and other oils. I e-mailed MOBIL 1 and asked them to respond to...

Anyone ever polish "Viper" on the valve covers??

Re: Anyone ever polish I used the wet-sanding (400 grit) method and WD-40 this past weekend after reading this posting. I used a small 1" x 1/2" piece of 3/4" plywood as a sanding block wrapped with the 400 grit wet sanding paper and H20. WOW!!!!! looks great and it only took a few minutes...

    Synchronize throttle bodies???

Removing the floor mats allows the synchronizing of the throttle bodies to be achieved at wide open throttle. This is exactly what the desired effect is. Besides, the floor mats should not be so far foward to prevent the gas pedal from a WOT position. Think about it!

    Synchronize throttle bodies???

I have a 95 RT as well and have found that I need to synchronize the cables every so often when the car begins to lurch in low gears. This is how I have done it several times with success: 1. On each throttle cable there is a cable release built into the bracket (shiny metal button). While...
