You know, I'm going to have to take that back... I'm considering getting a 2010 ( Just like everyone else I guess ).
I don't have the cash on-hand to plunk down right now, but I'm still kicking the idea around. Sigh, I hope to come to my senses soon :)
I do not disagree with PatentLaw about learning to drive a manual with a Viper... It would be very easy to learn on, not a problem. But the learning to drive a standard on a viper task will go hand in hand with the "Learning to drop the transmission to replace the clutch in a year" route :)...
If I had to park it on the street... forget about it. Everything else is trivial (except maybe the: learning stick thing). Try and get an insurance quote for it while being honest about the parking situation.
Have you seen the threads where folks just take the car out once in a blue moon...
Agree... Probably why the complete Belanger system has no front hangers. I believe Roe sells highflows with flex couplings on them if that's all you want to replace.
Fox new sucks... Read the last part very carefully:
"To celebrate the melancholy event, Dodge is producing a special run of 500 "Final Edition" Vipers with revised transmissions for better acceleration, and plenty of new and original paint and trim options to make each one as unique as...
Thanks for the heads up on the 3M / Tape option... Honestly, I hasn't even considered it! I was always checking out the little "HELP!" sections of the auto parts stores hoping to run across a rubber plug :)
Hamrhead: You have access to the illustrated section, use it and save yourself some...
Rattle around you say?!? Kinda like the relay I found in the drivers side sill when I took it off? I guess my previous "Viper Tech" dropped it down there, and rather than take the time to get it out, he just grabbed another relay from the parts bin to pop in.
Sigh... still rather annoyed at...
Here's a quick snap showing the only "hidden" bolts.
It's really easy except the forward 10mm nut inside the vent area...
Those red lines show the aprox position of the threaded studs that have 10mm nuts holding the upper part of the forward sidesill to the car. The first time getting...
Is this like the Pass Time? Will you actually run it and post a timeslip, or is this just an inetnet drag race?
If it's Pass Time... My one question: How many passes in it have you made?
:)
Did a search on the part number... The wizard posted about it back in 07, and says that part number is for Gen 1 and 2 Vipers...
So, I'm not really sure on that part number now as there seems to be a conflict with what JonB told me, and what the Wizard posted awhile ago.
Factory Part #4848038
Found mine ripped to sh*t when I put in the B&M, Jon provided the part number for me... haven't gotten over to a dealer to order one yet.
Without the boot, hot air comes up and out of the window switch area.
There is an MGW shifter install thread... but it's in a member only section of the forums.
The B&M comes with pretty good instructions, though they try to go in from the top with theirs. While going in from the to may have it's advantages, it's a lot more dissasembly work I believe.
I...
I have the B&M shifter ( part # 45055 ) with an MGW short knob. I couldn't be happier. I can't believe I let myself drive around for two years on the stock setup... It's like a whole different car now.
The assembly is a work of art, all stainless and 6061 anodized aluminum. I installed...
Really?!? That's one special car if you read the description...
"This 2006 Dodge Viper GTS is a car that you will have to see and hear in person to get the full experience."
That's a 1 of 1 right? :)
