    Mis-Shift

Juli, I believe that the "red" knob is a Hurst shifter knob. The Hurst shifter is quite good, at least equivalent to the B&M shifter.

So what the heck is an eccentric (sp?) bolt anyway?

Hi, Eccentric bolts are used to change camber and are used on a number of vehicles. I'm guessing that they are referring to the bolts that are "inboard" on the control arms.

    Some Guidance Would Be Helpful!

Hi, As for performance parts/etc.....I have 46 "bookmarks" on my browser and this forum marketplace has 136 sites! You should have no problem spending your hard-earned bucks on performance parts if 'stock" is not good enough. BUT, first get to know the characteristics of your stock Viper...

    splitter materials

I agree that Starboard is tough stuff and I've used it on ADRENALINE and other boats in the past. Perhaps if the leading edge is milled down from the starting 1/4" thickness, this could be good stuff. In any event it seems that no matter what material employed you'd best accept the reality of...

Ok, You Sell Your Viper, So How Do They Pay?

Wold you accept a check of any form from an individual if you were buying a house, yacht, aircraft, etc? Use an escrow company as previously recommended. Both sides are protected.

    splitter materials

I would agree with Chuck....inexpensive and easily replaceable if broken. I agree that Starboard would end up too bulky for the application.

    Fatal Crash on NJ TPK

Very sad....my condolences to the families and hopefully, the driver will survive. I've run across several horrible fatal MVA's as a "first responder" MD and I remember each victim as if I was standing right there today......the trauma will last in that truck driver's memory forever I'm sure as...

New CAFE Rules may eliminate Chrysler (Rumor on CNN)

Hey....in a "round-about" way it's true what you are saying Warfang. I guess my point is not to slam war efforts and the military, most notably our guys/gals in Iraq, but rather to support basic science/research. Chuck, where did you find those ridiculous funded research projects? :omg: I was...

New CAFE Rules may eliminate Chrysler (Rumor on CNN)

Hi RT/10: How many hominids were around in the Pleistocene Era?? Unless you are a fundamentalist and believe we were around through all epochs, your graph shows that we evolved (if you believe in evolution) and adapted while in a cool climactic era. So, the global warming effect could be...

    ABS -vs- non ABS Vipers

"The best would be a defeatable ABS system but I fear the lawyer/government would not allow that. Possibly on an extreme performance car you could have a race setting that desensitizes the system such that it is not invoked, even under race conditions." BUT...they allow a defeatable passenger...

    Tickets???

I got caught going downhill from 70 to 55 zone! Now I have a Magnacharger SC setup on the H2 which makes a big difference in drive-ability o the highway and with towing the Viper to the track.

    ABS -vs- non ABS Vipers

BTW, I wasn't implying that you don't need ABS brakes. In fact, the average driver who knows how to apply them will do better than many professional drivers (Chuck excluded) without ABS. Additionally, there may be a shift in the findings with more current unpublished studies (and with more...

    ABS -vs- non ABS Vipers

Hi, Chuck has the data on his side..... The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety did a study in 1996 on the effects of ABS and found that vehicles with ABS are NO LESS LIKELY to be involved in fatal accidents than those without. This may be due to "pilot error", that is, the drivers may be...
