I think 1650 does not include a gear set or housing. The 4000 may include core rear end that is machined to fit quaiffe, that is you get to keep your existing rear intact. I ordered quaiffe w 3.33 gear already installed, kept my existing core and had it installed for about 3800.
I believe initailly one was approved to be built for VCA Pres., but nobody else could order one. When they reopened ordering for the Venom Red you could place an ACR order. I was told seven were built.
At our tech day with SRT engineer he advised changing pistons if you did anything beyond headers/exhaust with the 08's. They are the weak linq and are already pushed near their limit with the stock set up.
We get this all the time people ask "where did you have it painted". Also have heard "that's the nicest one here" at every event I've been at with it. I had the same concern about the color when I ordered it, but have not regretted getting SSG once.
If you change gear you will not be able to do 60 in first gear. I put 3.33 in my 08 and am very happy with the change. I picked 3.33 because I also plan on adding headers/exhaust soon. With 3.33 it will do 57 mph in 1st.
Nice job with the pictures Bruce! We already put 2009 on the calander. Thank you to all who organized and planned, we had a great time. Hope to see everyone at Gingerman and St Ignace.
I think what you described is normal. In my 08 no wheel spin if I do a easy to moderate launch, but at about 5500 rpm in first gear the tires start to break loose. When I have launched from 60mph in 2nd gear no wheel spin at all. Also a very nice bark from the tires when shift from 2nd to...
yes runners are much longer than they appear. I don't have a picture but they are quite a work of art when you see them internally. I believe this is part of the reason for two piece design. Sounds like you are used to more gear.
I am going to confirm this with dealer today and if this is the case order new sensors. I'll post what I find out
ACR rims were from partsrack 3500. Thanks Jon B
Putting new 08 ACR rims on my SSG. If I put new rims on without sensors I'm assuming I will have flashing tire light for flat tire. Is this correct? I checked price of new sensors at dealership.... $260.
I was not able to attend the spring brunch but was told that names of two clear bra installers were given. One was in commerce. Does anyone know who they were?
Both my boys have been riding since they were 2 1/2 and 3 on cruises or car show events. Proper car seat or booster and air bag off. You can get air bag turn off switches for 97 and older. Gen 3 cars even have car seat anchors. They are now 6 and 7 1/2 and some of the best times with our cars...
yes definatly vibration, But I agree the new trns is noisier also. I tried three different roads/surfaces and noticed the vibration on all three. Seems to come more from drivers side front to me. I'm getting balance on tire checked this week.
