TNT headers seem to be the best for Gen1 - TNT's are no longer made but used sets can be found. I have no cats and Roe 3" mufflers....it'll wake the neighbors & get your heart pounding too.
I figure if you want a quiet Viper, buy a Vette. (or something w/o side pipes). Ryan Fox (Got One)...
I'm running stock suspension - Kurt has the KW V2 shocks on his. We're both running the 295's up front. No rubbing on either the Gen 1 or 2.
As far as gears I don't know. My gen1 is very modified and the "taller" ratios is actually helpful to me. But I have not noticed any difference...
It will throw your speedo off 5mph across the board it seems (speedo vs Passport 9500 {GPS}). As far as feeling slower...I'll pull 3 or 4 plug wires to drop it down under 550 hp and let you know how it feels.
I was wondering where Bernie got that B/W GTS he had on the track the other day - I didn't think he had one of those in stock. It's amazing how well you can drift a GTS - simply beautiful in the hands of a good driver like Bernie!:omg::drive::2tu: I was wondering if you still had the original...
...I thought you tested for torque at the rear wheels/tires, not at the lug nuts. Now I'm going to have to re-dyno my car! I should still be able to turn more than 95-100 ft pounds at the lug nuts.
Plug it and go!
Everyone else here will tell you to replace your tires with PS2s right not.
A plug will get you home or till you can have the tire unmounted and patched from the inside. Plug kits are available at almost any gas station.
Re: Whats better Balanger headers or ACRX headers?
I obviously have no idea what I'm talking about but it's my firm opinion that until the computer is "cracked" the only gains you will see will be what the computer doesn't see....
...meaning the parts presently available are not able to be...
Re: Whats better Balanger headers or ACRX headers?
Not to be a smarty pants but go drive a Gen4 and you'll understand. Below 4k rpm they are anemic - exact opposite of a gen 1 & 2. Get them above 4K and you better be hanging on!
Great event!
The key to the success of this event was all the additional volunteers and sponsors this year. I learned first hand how helping in a seemingly small capacity can add up - especially combined with several other folks chipping in the same.
ART - THANKS! Dyno & tech talks - the...
I bought my Gen 1 because it was the cheapest Viper I could get into. I finally got the original tires off of it and now I'm not fish-tailing down the hwy. This car is great! I can't wait to put some 120 spokes on it and a pair of 15" subs in the trunk. I'm hoping to afford some hydraulics...
You see the license plate....yeah, that is my 11 yr old son's car. He got on it and left you in the dust - you and your run flats & No we didn't talk afterwards :lmao::lmao::lmao:
My best friend's Camero with NOS will blow your Viper away!!!:rolaugh:
whatever.... My friends, dad's friend at work ZR1 dynoed at 732hp - bone stock. My uncle's GT500 stang with a pully & chip dynoed at 863hp - on pump gas!
Vipers suk! Yellow cars are slow...etc., etc.
JK!!!! Dyno it in a few thousand miles and see if you don't pick up a few HP.
There is a 3-piece (fit in your trunk) version. If you're over 6ft tall a seat lowering kit is highly recommended with the Jeff Lemke tops IMO...
I can upload pics if you're interrested.
