If I listened to Dave I would just get whatever color I could get and put it on my car and then add some stripes to match. Maybe buy his red ones for my B/W GTS and then change the stripes to red?
Anyone got one of these lying around in pristine condition already painted GTS blue? Mine has a minor imperfection from one of the nuts being overly tightened. Not so bad to consider buying one and having it repainted but if someone has one already in the right color......
I know, I know. I...
Car went 12.21 at 117 on Pilot Sports and with stock exhaust at Gainesville International Raceway first time I had it out. Only had the filters and tubes at that time. After the Roe HF cats and Borla catback and the Hoosiers I was hoping for high 11's and 120 at Bradenton, but only went 12.08 at...
They are a little grippier than the Pilot Sports and drive fine on the street as long as it is not wet. They are pretty cheap too. I think they were something like $460 shipped from Summit Racing. They are the same size as the stock 17 in tire.
Detailer used 2000 on the whole car and 1000 on the really rough spots. Nothing courser than that. He spent 10 hours just on the wetsanding and buffing.
They are great for an everyday driving tire as long as it is dry. I am not sure if the police would give you a hard time over them or not. I mounted them white letters in to be a little more stealth. The car pretty much a fair weather toy and if I ever get caught in the rain I imagine I am...
My camera and photographic skills do not do justice to the detailer's work. He smoothed out a lot of 13 year old factory paint flaws I never would have noticed if he hadn't pointed them out. Paint is much more reflective and glass-like. Even a chamois drying clearcoat over the years leaves a...
Radio in my 94 used to change from FM to AM when I hit a bump, or if on CD jumped to the number 2 CD when I hit a bump. I left it alone and it eventually quit doing that. These cars are a life form of their own and sometimes demonstrate powers of self healing.
That has been a heck of an investment for somebody. Pay $50,000 (or more) for it in 1992 dollars. Have money tied up in it for 17 years plus have to store it and insure it. Enjoy driving it an average of 35 miles a year. Put it up for sale to get a $50,000 bid in 2009 dollars.
A first year...
Collectors like all documentation. Window sticker, delivery documents as well as complete owner history. Drivers, not so much so. I have the 12th 96 GTS model produced before the first model for sale to the public. I wish I could find out the history, but have had no such luck. I am guessing it...
I do feel guilty when I walk throught the garage and run my hand along the lines of my 96 GTS. The 94 RT/10 sits there on the other side of the garage out of reach, and I can just hear it saying "what about me"?
Squeeze bulbs for the lumbar supports were $80 last time I checked. You can get an exact match at a medical supply store (they are blood pressure tester bulbs) for around $5.
I may be interested in trading my 1" adjustable seat lowering kit on my 96 GTS for your stock seat rails if the 96 GTS and 94 RT/10 stock seat rails are the same. I am 6'1" and don't need the seat lowering kit and the seat feels too low to me and makes it harder to get in and out of the car.
Not sure what that is that is red is in your picture between the hood, side sill and door. Part of the door seal? Whatever it is, it should not be red so I would suspect something has been repainted.
Corrosion will form if the side sills get wet inside and do not dry out. The corrosion...
Good eye. I kept looking at the pictures for a missing right front center cap and finally realized you were talking about the fender liner.
Car has obviously had some work not well done.
It has been for sale for quite a while. I think they wanted a buy it now of $43,000 or so when I bought my 96 GTS in July. Does not look bad with the exception of the cupholder cut into the console.
