    GTS, Borla, and Drone

    I had a crossover pipe welded in just in front of the rear mufflers. Did not eliminate 100% of the drone, but it eliminated a lot. Sounds the same as it did before at idle and under hard acceleration, but less drone when cruising. $100 at a good exhaust shop.

    ABS or non for a newbie

    If you need ABS to drive a high performance car, you also need traction control, and that eliminates the Viper from consideration. Both are available on a nice Corvette nanny car and that is the right choice for some people.

    That was my dream and now I have a Red 94 RT/10 on one side of the garage and a 96 B/W GTS on the other. Yes, going into the garage always brings a smile to my face. I don't share your enthusiasm for emerald green, however, but to each their own. It's all good.

    The stripes look burgundy in some pics and black in others. I don't like the way they start out narrow on the front and get wider as they go back.

    I have the same thing on the hood of my 94. Little raised spots the size of pin heads. Repaint is the only way to fix but not worth doing. Nobody seems to see them but me.

    Most of the reaction you get is the impression you give out. I can appreciate a lot of cars and have given other drivers a thumbs up and a smile from 50's street rods, 60's muscle cars, a Ford Crown Vic on a F-350 4WD chassis, to a new Smart Car. I can't say I have had any negative reactions...

    If the battery is four years old, I would replace it. A low charge will cause all kinds of electrical glitches that can come and go. I burnt both of my side sills from an engine missing due to inconsistent power flow to the ECM. Caused the engine to run rich and overheated both cats. My Viper...

    A lot of the options default in e-bay based on the model. You see a lot of Vipers that say ABS, that don't have it. Common and not a big deal. If the guys says terms are $1,000 at end of sale and balance in 72 hours, I am sure he will take $1,000 at the end of the sale and the balance in cash...

    I like the part where they stick the Brembo caliper covers to the caliper with silicone. You got to be kidding! Talk about rinky-dink. That concept makes less sense than painting your hood vents white!

    That is a real collector piece. Does Iacocca have the first 92? If you do see Bob Lutz ask him why they put the sunroof in the 96 GTS Pace Car he drove at the Indy 500. There has to be some obvious reason.

    I wonder if they did this just to get some flow through ventilation so Mr. Lutz did not expire during his pace car duties. I read that they normally remove the A/C from pace cars for some reason (condensation drips on the track?).

    1996 Indy 500 Video

    Any idea why they cut the hole in the roof? No camera mounts or anything of that like apparent on the race day video. Must have been really far back on the top as the front half is pretty clear in some of the pics. Must have been a good reason to take a sawzall to a perfectly good car.

    You can't see a hole in the roof in any of the Pace Car pics I have found. Did this one have it? Any idea why they did that?
