    Anyone familiar with VEC wiring?

Installing a used VEC 3 in my GEN 1 and have had a few discrepancies with the instructions vs my my vec wiring harness. Luckily I caught them before I got too far, but I'm wondering if someone could help me with a few questions. I will contact Sean Roe if I have to, but I thought I would...

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Russ M - That makes sense. I'm really trying to avoid dropping the tank on my RT since I don't have the fancy access panel like the GTS guys. Another note about the external fuel rails though, I prefer the look of the stock injectors over the external rail. I can purchase new subaru injectors...

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Modifying a GTS gauge pod wouldn't be too bad. Only issue with the column pod is that in my RT/10, it would block the idiot light cluster between the speedo and tach. Thanks,

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Vital Velocity - Nice, where did you get the gauge pods? Looks like a GTS, probably don't have gauge pods for the RT/10. Thanks!

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Russ M - First off, thanks for your wisdom. Your words carry a lot of weight with me because I have read many of your responses to threads in my search for info. 1) I'm already in the middle of installing a VEC 3 and an AEM is pretty expensive. I have an Autometer WBO2 with gauge and an...

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Stock fuel pressure with stock rails etc is 55 and should not fluctuate with rpm (ie engine vacuum) since it is a non return style system.(doesn't have a vacuum referenced regulator) If you have aftermarket rails and a regulator with return line, then you could run a lower fuel pressure if...

Question for turbo or supercharger guys...

Starting a TT build, and had a few questions. 1) Which bank runs leaner? Looking for which bank to install my WBO2 and EGT gauges. 2) Are any of the cylinders prone to running lean using the stock fuel rails? 3)Got any pictures of WB/EGT/Boost gauges mounted in cabin? 4)If you're...

My VEC 3 install in my Gen 1

Took a break from wiring and did a little detailing. Going to start a new show, "Pimp my ECU" Before: Painted screw heads due to this being a used unit and having been installed in the engine bay. Unit in pieces. Body painted. End plates painted. Finished product...

My VEC 3 install in my Gen 1

A few more wires stuck together. Here is where they lead to in the cabin: The VEC wiring harness is designed so that all the wires you cut are fed into male and female connectors. By plugging the connectors together, you complete the factory circuits that you just cut apart. When...

I'll post more pics as I work on it. Won't be able to post the performance gains as it will be skewed by the two turbos I'm also adding. Later,

My VEC 3 install in my Gen 1

I started to to install my VEC today and decided to take some pictures. I remember searching high and low for an install thread when I was researching the VEC and never finding one. The VEC is usually mounted in the engine bay, but it isn't weather tight, so I decided to mount it in the...

My DIY car skates. (wheel dollies)

Having a 28 x 20 garage and a need to fit 3 cars in it during the winter months prompted me to devise a solution to my problem. You can buy regular wheel dollies that your tires sit in so you can spin the car around in the garage, but I wanted to go one step further and build something that...

Question on Datalogging the VEC3 with a phone or pocket pc

It would be awesome to have access to the communication protocols for the VEC so we could create our own apps for whichever mobile device we choose. I started an app for my nintendo DS to tune my tt v8 300zx running a Megasquirt ecu. I would have continued development of it, but small...

What do you guys use to delete the cats?

If it is a Gen 1, there are no secondary O2's to worry about, if it is a Gen 2, I believe a SCT or similar can shut the O2 codes off. Later,

What do you guys use to delete the cats?

I used 3" stainless and 3" magnaflow straight throughs to replace my entire exhaust. It is loud and has a drone around 1500rpm, but it is growing on me. Will be different after the TT install. Side sills are ice cold though. I have a thread with sound clips...

Need VEC 3 installation instructions for Gen 1

Hey guys, does anyone have a digital copy of the VEC 3 installation instructions for a gen 1? Is there a reason they aren't available right from Roe's site? I really don't want to bother him with a request for the instructions, and I hear he is backlogged to begin with. Also, does anyone...

Before and after vids of my DIY exhaust.

Alright, I built a pretty cheap exhaust using some 3" stainless, 2 stainless straight through magnaflows, and no cats. The car is super loud now and has a brutal drone around 1500rpm, but I have gotten used to it and have learned to drive at different RPM's to minimize the noise while cruising...
