That low rpm rumble at idle does sound nice. I didn't know a Viper could make that sound - Hmmmm, I might have to reconsider my 'no mods' position after all.

My GTS has the chrome side ones, done by the first owner. How do you actually put these on - Do you remove the originals and put the chrome ones in place, or do these just cover the original?

Re: Pics from Birmingham World of Wheels.......
I love the sapphire GTS, but I'm biased of course.
It's good to see the young kids checking out the ladies - Much better for them than video games!

Re: what do you think of this \'01 RT/10??
I would anyone a couple of beers that Viper has had front end cosmetic damage at one time or another. Emblems don't just migrate unless someone had a reason to be removing and replacing them.
Carfax means nothing really, as you said yourself. My...
Re: i\'m sick of haters!
The thought of taking the Viper (or any other really nice car) to a club just never occured to me. Maybe with valet parking if I knew the owner, but that would be about it ...

Re: what do you think of this \'01 RT/10??
The badge on the front of my sapphire GTS looks to be a darker color than that one, but pics can be misleading. Have a look >>

I do like driving them, but I like them to be clean every time I go to do so. Not to mention my wife doesn't see a problem with letting cats in the garage - But that will have to change :-)

I just ordered Covercraft's Dustop cover. It had great user reviews, and I was able to find a direct online place that provided decent prices w/o shipping.
All said and done, looking at $186. Now if I find one of these stupid cats in the garage, I'll kill them for sure!

I just bought my '01 GTS, and never gave a second thought to it not having a warranty. It only has 2,350 miles on it, but I have generally found that proper care and maintenance is the antidote for expensive repairs. Not always perhaps, but close enough for me ...

I hear you - I don't have mine home yet either. It will take me a good week or two to clear space in the garage, so if I want to see the GTS I drive to the dealer's showroom. I'm itching to get it home.
The car does look almost black, especially inside buildings. But when it is outside in...
Re: Do they proofread the owner\'s manuals ?!
I don't have the car home yet - So the best I can do is read the manual and cruise the boards. I should have the space cleared in my garage in the next week or so.
I did go drive it today. I love 2nd gear freeway entries!

Re: Do they proofread the owner\'s manuals ?!
Almost all the Springfield have 92 and less. And the occasional few will have 93. I would have loved to have had 93 in California when I drove a blown Firebird Formula.
Now that I have it, my top car only needs 91. (Depending on how you read the...
418, exactly! I will be leasing the car to my business, as it is better for liability reasons -plus- the tax implications on expensive non-SUV vehicles are favorable to lease vs buy now that the depreciation schedule (non 179) isn't as good as it used to be.
I knew I wasn't the only one that...
Do they proofread the owner\'s manuals ?!
I was reading through my manual tonight and noticed something odd.
On page 83, it says to run 91 octane fuel, and then goes on to say "The purchase of higher octane fuel is not recommended".
Then on page 136 it says Fluid Recommendations (Gasoline)...
I do respect those ACR cars, but it wouldn't be necessary for me. My cars spend more time as garage/trailer queens than they do anything else. I like to keep them new!

I've only owned my GTS for two days, and I can't stop looking at it! I considered the new Vette Z06 since I've had them before, but the Viper is just gorgeous. And I couldn't come to grips with the depreciation on a new Z06.
Mike M
I can see many nights just opening the kitchen door and looking at mine in the garage. Being able to see it easily would be the only thing that would tempt me to leave the car cover off!

Updated the location in my profile - Missed that one the first time through! I lived in Pleasanton, California the past 13 years, and recently relocated my family here to Springfield, MO.
Pleasanton is a big exotic car place, since most people there had money. I would typically see a...
