First of all, I work second shift 'til 2:12am here in Duluth Minnesota.
It was a gorgeous night outside when I got off of work, so I decided to take the GTS out for a ride since the roads are pretty clear of traffic, and whatever. I also noticed that the Odometer was at about 24,996 as I...
Actually, I use my Craftsman 3 ton floor jack just fine. I just take the round jack pad off the jack, and just slide it under the side..............Just fits under there.
I actually would make 2 passes, and then let her rest for 45 minutes before doing it again. What else could I do to cool it down before running it each time ??

Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. I really appreciate all the helpful tips from you. Anyhow, I managed to get a best run off at 12.61 seconds @ 115mph with a 2.11 60ft time with 29pounds of pressure in the rears. I could do nothing but smoke the tires off the line everytime...
Actually the worst place to run out of gas is in the middle of the frikin' desert in Arizona in 112 degree heat. That happened to me this year as we took a road trip to LA in late June. The worst part was that the gas gauge wasn't even in the red zone yet ( looked like about an 1/8 tank left...
I see lots of people post the same questions in more than one area of this board. Maximum exposure for something that I felt was very important when it came time to actually race the car for the very first time. In fact, you guys really helped me out, and I would bet I wouldn't have gotten the...
One of my big problems at the track was that there was NO way to get around the stinkin' water burnout area. I'd roll through it, light'em up, but there was still water in the tread of the tires. One time the track guy held me at the burnout area while he "assisted me" in applying some of this...
I ran my Totally Stock '96 GTS today at RockFalls dragstrip in Eau Claire Wisconsin. My first attempt down the track was a 13.10 with NO traction from the start. As the day went on, It was better with 12.7's being the norm if everything else went OK, but I still couldn't hook...
I'm going drag racing for the first time with my '96 GTS on Saturday.
When shifting through the gears, I was told to never let up on the accelerator.. Is this true ?? Wouldn't this slip the clutch ?? Yeah I want to do well, but I also don't want to break anything.
I was told to keep...
Re: Stupid question: What\'s the correct Champoin Plug to get for my \'96 GTS ??
Thank you very much for that info.............I really need to get a service manual for this thing.
Hey rdustman,
Here's a question that will benefit us both in 1320' times.......
When shifting through the gears, I was told to never let up on the accelerator.. Is this true ??
Thanks !!
What tire pressures do you run at the Drag Strip ?? I'm running stock 17" Michelin Pilots on my '96 GTS, and I'm wondering what the optimum pressure would be for the rears and the fronts. I'm guessing about 23-25 lbs rear, and 30-35 lbs front. Am I way off base with my guess ??
Hey
Motor City Mad Man,
Looks like wer're out numbered on this post. Have you noticed that all these "rednecks" own Yellow Vipers ?? Hmmm..... Interesting. At least you and I know that Dodge made the Blue/White Vipers a little faster than all the rest of'em...
Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ??
Hmmm.. Fuel filter too. That sounds like a good plan as well. I really do need to get a service manual for this GTS so I can dive right into it. I'm also gonna clean the TB's and injectors. On the 7th...
Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ??
Cleaqn out fuel injectors? Is there a better way to do that than to just add Fuel Injector cleaner to the gas tank ??
Re: Extended Warranty \"A\" Plan....... What is it ??
I bought the car, a '96 GTS used in June. The guy transferred the warranty into my name for the $50 fee. I just got a letter in the mail from Dodge stating this, and it just said that I have the A775F Warranty through next June 22...
Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ??
Thanks for the replies. I'm all over it.... I'm gonna get those 3.55's for some neck snapping fun. Gotta love it when you give rides, and the back of the passengers head is bouncing off the headrest as...
Extended Warranty \"A\" Plan....... What is it ??
I just recieved the warranty information from Dodge, and it says I have the "A" Plan, A775F to be exact. What does this mean, and what will it cover from now 'til it expires next June when the 7yrs are up?? It's not really clear on what it...
Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ??
Oh yeah, As far as the weather being a factor.........They should build a drag strip here in Duluth !!!! It's Always cool here, and pretty darn close to sea level. Living right next to Lake Superior which...
Re: Ever have the feeling that your Viper just isn\'t as \"Snappy\" as it was before ??
I think i'll take your advice on the Plugs and Wires. How can I get in touch with Chuck Tator ?? Also, After I reverse wash out the K & N's, what's the deal with oiling them ?? How's that done...
