Nice write up! Donuts in the rain!?:rolaugh: reminds me of the guy who posted the donuts in the snow!!!:lmao:
snake bite gets you when least expected...enjoy it, good luck!:drive:
When I was making my decision it was between a 03 Z06 and a 96 GTS. The Z06 is a great car and I would have driven it more than I drive my Viper, to me a vette is another car. The Viper is special, people love them...and its fast!
Depending on the mileage on the Viper, depends on any...
I saw an article in a magazine "2008 Viper ACR w/ 6.7L Turbo Cummins"
I thought that sounded better than a V8, but its still no V10.
Either way think about the torque that thing would have.:2tu:
Bummer man, but how about this weather today! I had mine out for 2 hours, never went over 190*...I ahve a Ron Davis alum Radiator w/ upgraded fan
I saw a Yellow RT/10 on 67th by the 101 also!
Matching rpm's on any downshift is a must without abs, yaw and the such.
I can downshift from 5th to 3rd @ 50mph and you would never know I shifted. Just have to drive the car enough to know what rpm's are at what speed:drive:
i go in the 3-4k range, sounds better than all the up to 5500rpm.
Just don't do it when the engine os cold, as long as it idles for atleast 2 minutes your good!
I will, the great thing about 3.33 is the speed is 129 mph at 5500 rpms in 4th gear. I guess that is only important on a track, once I drive it I will let you know.
sad to hear...I have not talked to Chuck or been to his dealership but I hear nothing but good things. If I ever move back to NY it is the only place I will take my Viper!
btw...what 05 models do you still have?
just went through this over the weekend. you need a new battery and/or jump. For a genII (which I will assume the same) all electrical works, if you turn the key to "on" you volts are probably 8 or so, they need to be over 12.
Find a large v8 SUV or a diesel to jump it.
then get a battery...
10,000 miles on a (for example) 98 Viper makes no sense, Do we honestly think the the cars will be worth that much? Why sacrifice not driving, to buy a car for $75K to think it will be worth $500K in 30 years, thats not even a 6% rate of return.
1. Buy high mileage Viper(20K miles)
2...
If it wasn't for the fact that my entire life (since 96) I wanted a 96 B&W GTS I would be all over this. Amazing price, I would love to fly home to NYC and drive it across country!
Atleast your a driver! My 96 has 46K on it, I cot it in Oct. and 3500 miles are from me! Good luck with the 08
My plans are head work, 1.7s, full exhaust...I am deciding between 3.33 & 3.55 gears...I think I may go with the 3.45 set up from DC Perf. Does anyone have a 3.55 gear Gen II in AZ I could give a test drive in?
My cousin lives in Barre, MA and has a huge garage. He would probably let you keep it there, just take him for a cruise as payment...lol. He has a few bikes and loves Vipers. If you are interested I can ask him.
