    What Was This Owner Thinking?

Yes, that is Charlie's car. He goes by MoonViper for obvious reasons.

    OK Tom, Let's Talk GAS!!

The federal government has initiated investigation into increasing the 10% ethanol level to 15%. The problem is really with those vehicles previously made to the 10% requirement which will not perfom acceptably but will use the fuel unknowingly.

    Big Wing Viper

Height does come into play when trying to get the wing in clean air. Note that the high wings were on RT/10's, which have very poor air close to the body. Ugly, but possibly more functional.

    garage storage- backing in?

For location/stopping I use both a set of chalks as a worst case stop and a parking assist that looks like a traffic signal and indicates when I am in "the" position. Works well both directions as the overhang is pretty close.

If you win the Silver ACR Raffle Car?

I won't win but I do not really care for the color so would sell it if I did.

    garage storage- backing in?

I have 2 closet full length mirrors positioned sideways (one above the other at a slightly different angle vertically) to provide visibility for going on the lift. It is a big help for going in forward. Backing up I use the side view mirror pointed down and observe the tires and edge of the lift.

    Gen 2 Auto Trans

I agree with this thought. The only situation that warrants such a conversion (beyond those for strictly drag racing) is if the person has a disability and an automatic is the only way to enjoy a Viper. Having manual only Vipers sets the Viper apart.

    Gen 2 Auto Trans

Anyone ever try a 68RFE transmission? It was originally intended to be mated to the 8.4L and has a torque capacity of 650 ft lbs (conservative OEM) along with 6 speeds. It replaced the 48RE in the larger diesels.

So, you want a VOI 11 right?

What is all this suits and white tie talk about. Only VOI I ever wore a suit (actually a tux) to was VOI3 in Indianapolis as part of the Indy Ball. Beyond that no way no how on the suit aspect. I second the motion on zone events. The two that we had in the midwest were great (Detroit in 2003...

Or 120,000 miles as stated in my Chrysler owners manual ;)

So, you want a VOI 11 right?

I must say I have had just as much fun at a zone event with substantially lower costs than a VOI. The Midwest zone event in St. Louis was one such event. I liked it better than the VOI in the same location a few years earlier. However, with that said, I am still not in favor of spreading...

GTech Pro SS Performance Meter 4 sale! Measures 0-60mph, 60 ft., 1/4, 1/8 mile, etc!

Re: GTech Pro SS Performance Meter 4 sale! Measures 0-60mph, 60 ft., 1/4, 1/8 mile, It also is a poor mans lap timer for road track or autocross. Allows you to see where you are pushing the cars limits and where you are not as it records G's in 3 planes in order to quantify things.

So, you want a VOI 11 right?

Dumb question - why not just charge participants what it really costs to hold an event like VOI? Why spread the costs around to those that will not be participating? The above is not directed at the raffles specifically, but at dues increases and outright solicitation for the specific purpose...

    The Very First Viper?

I was thinking that as I remember seeing it near Bldg 128 many times when I was still working in 132 (Ah the ole Advanced engines days!). What a fugly looking stance that car had! Bo (Buchesky for the uninitiated) knows alot about that car as I think he used it for chassis setup.

    boat name for mutli-Viper owner?

I have seen boats with Venomm and Venomous. I may not have enough m's in the first name. He is a member and has the same name in the rear window.

Strange part fell off my Viper!

Ah, Jon but Mack does exist. Only now it makes the 4.7L engine. So says one of the few that watched his car get assembled there.

ps2s on rear / runflats up front?

I agree Jon but everyone here said the same story. I tried (as in I cannot afford to buy 4 tires everytime I waste one). And it has been great. And I try to do emergency manuevers every chance I get. I find it funny that itis okay to mix drag radial rears with anything as most do not buy...

ps2s on rear / runflats up front?

If I listened to lawyers I would never leave my house for all the ills that could affect me. Oops, I forgot thet the house is the location with the highest number of accidents causing injury. I would expect a lawyer would tell us that driving a Viper, any Viper, is an unacceptable risk...

ps2s on rear / runflats up front?

Never had that condition with the exact same setup (run flats up front and non-run flats in the rear). Street, track wherever. The responsiveness is no worse than with the original run flats as turn in, etc. is set up primarily by the crappy run flats. As I said it does have more understeer as...

    Underbody Neon Lighting

I like it! Having the red neon lighting through the wheels is justincredible at night. Plus it helps you see the curbs to avoid hitting them. A win-win. :2tu: Not!

    Rubber (elastomeric) camshaft.

Not that I am (or at least was at some point in the past) a valvetrain engineer. But the 2 stroke argument does notwork because there are many 2 strokes with poppet valves (usually exhaust only). However, the elastomeric expanding lobe seems like an interesting one. I hereby ordain it as the...
