    Air Oil Separator Results?

Jim, I routed the can outlet back to the intake manifold vacuum port. Good point with-respect-to sucking more air from the rocker cover - unless anyone knows for sure, I shouldn't think any air flow through this part of the system would have any tangiable effect on AFR. Ade.

    Air Oil Separator Results?

No error codes generated, not yet anyway, and I'm not expecting any. Great write-up Tony - it's what inspired me. Agree with you on the moisture issue - one very good reason not to simply vent to atmosphere. Another is the smell.

    Air Oil Separator Results?

I've just fitted an air/oil separator - mounted it on the ali crossmember next to the alternator - to early to tell how effective it's been. I can post a photo if anyone's interested. I've got both the CCV and rocker cover vents tubed together into a single separator. Like you Tom, I had...

    My Creampuff NA Build

Come on Tony, it's April. :dunno: We need closure on this build - it's driving me nuts and it's not even my car. :rolaugh: Howz the tuning going? :drive: I'm gearing up to do something similar with Gen3 heads next winter and am keen to hear all about your exploits. :2tu: Ade. PS Just...

    fuel filter

The EXACT same situation happened to me after fitting a new filter. The filter had been working fine for a couple of days without problem then suddenly, bang, the connection separated, petrol pissing all over the garage floor. Luckily everything was stone cold. I refitted the connector using...

How many of you carry a fire extinguisher? Saw a brutual car fire today :(

I have a fire extinguisher fitted behind the passenger seat - nice and easy to get at in a hurry. Some might dislike seeing it in such open view but it doesn't bother me. Ade.

    Spring Cap install help request

I agreed, removing/replacing the struts is not difficult - I borrowed a hydraulic spring compressor (identical to the one ViperTony pictures above) and set my shocks this Winter - I was surprised how simple the process was. As for removing caps with the shock still fitted to the car? I guess if...

How to rebuild a half shaft - with pics!

Agreed, great writeup and pictures and needs to be in Illustrated Upgrades. A 10 ton arbour press is a 'sledge hammer to crack a nut' but will still do the job.

Let's start the talking... where and what VOI 12!

So I guess London's outa the question then! :rolaugh: If I had a vote, I'd like anywhere on the East coast, mainly because it's a darn site closer to the UK/Europe than California, which means I'll stand a better chance of being their. :2tu:

    Wanted: Broken window regulators

Jon, I have a busted window regulator from my 96 GTS sitting in the garage - it's waiting for the busted-bits-fairy to visit - don't think she's gonna come any time soon. Assuming it's the same regulator you're after AND you don't get a better offer on your side of the pond (I'm in the UK)...

    Front Fascia Removal

Aahhh, Gen3 - good luck. :2tu: Similar to Gen2 setup??? :dunno: If you're lucky, they haven't used any of those dang awful fir-tree-fasteners. :crazy2:

    Front Fascia Removal

I don't know if I'm missing something in this thread but "did you check in the Illustrated Upgrades section?" I'm sure there are details in their for front fascia removal.

    96 GTS Blue/White Stripe Stats

"Me me me, I have #0141." :dunno: Can you send me some new stick-on vin plates too ending in #0141. :lmao: "NO???" Sorry chaps, English sense of humor failure. :eater:

    Transmission R/R

Agree with TS on this one. If the Gen1 is the same as Gen2 (which it probably is) you need to "remove 8 gearbox to bell housing retaining bolts." Check this out:- http://forums.viperclub.org/illustrated-upgrades/621507-rear-crankshaft-oil-seal-replacement-including-pilot-bearing-96-gts.html

Clutch gone and almost through front fence.

No problem Mark, so long as we don't need to go anywhere near that cross-member again, unless it's with one of these.

Clutch gone and almost through front fence.

There's some good gearbox removal advice in here, if I do say so myself. http://forums.viperclub.org/illustrated-upgrades/621507-rear-crankshaft-oil-seal-replacement-including-pilot-bearing-96-gts.html You should be able to do your replacement without TOTALLY removing the gearbox from...

What to do with CCW wheels?

I bought CCW classics last year and went through questions you are - here's what I found:- a) Clearcoat on highly polished - UK dealers I spoke to WOULD do it but would not give me ANY guarantee because the clearcoat hasn't got a good surface to bond to so doesn't last very long - you've also...

    1998 PCV Valve?

I’m considering an air-oil catch can too. Vent to air or vented to the intake manifold.... Include venting the rocker covers or not.... Decisions decisions!!! Yours to make. Quite a lot of people seem to be doing it though – 1st class write up by ViperTony in illustrated upgrades. I guess...

    Crankshaft damper bolt

Mark, As you've go the front of your engine in bits, fitting a pin kit would be much easier to do - not fitting it would be a missed opportunity. Sean uses UPS "expedited" for customers that need a faster delivery. Cheers, Ade.

    Replacing corroded brake lines, options?

YES - I used OEM earlier this year - go to your local dealer. I needed the short length of tube into the prop valve of my 96 GTS. Cheap, pre-bent, flaired with fittings - two weeks on order - you can't go wrong. All they want it your VIN# - oh yes, "and some money." Ade.

How NOT to leave a car show

Yeh, like "what happened?" What caused it? No brake lights - no high rev sounds! Maybe the driver over-reacted after drifting onto wrong side of the road. :dunno:
