FWIW, my original question was for identification purposes, or "if I see a red Viper with red emblems on the side, can I assume it's 2005 or older".
Obviously a Viper with body colored side emblems *can* be an early 2006 too...
Thanks for all the answers/comments!
Simple question: What year did the SRT-10 (roadster) get the silver side logos instead of the body colored ones? I know 2006 already had the silver logos...
The BAD thing about the protection group is the floor mats. The factory CUTS two 1x0.5" rectangluar HOLES in the driver side carpet for the hook (yes, they remove two rectangular pieces of the carpet!).
You could say that the carpet is "ruined" if you decide that you want to go with something...
My 2006 had 4 miles. My 2008 had 3 miles.
I've heard some vipers may have 15 miles from the factory because they selected the car for some more extensive testing...
Guess: The paint cracks before the panel?!
That's what happened when I was rear ended in my Mustang. Bumper was fine, but I got cracks in the (6 year old) paint... I also got rear ended in my 06' viper, not as hard though (but the awful sound of the impact made me believe the whole rear was...
Convertible top has bad fit (compared to 2006) and a few minor cosmetic flaws.
Paint quality not as good (compared to 2006). Much more orange peel and pin-size spot on front bumper and rear quarter panel where primer shows through clear coat (This is not a damage, it's an error that occured in...
Remember that the $1790 option includes the satellite radio box (Sirius), so it's pretty much the same cost as purchasing an RB-1 + sat box at list price....
Same thing here, and one of the first differences I noticed. I never recall seeing the red light illuminate on the battery gauge of my 2006 - not even when the battery went bad :omg:
On the '08, the red light always comes on and goes out after a few seconds. Looks like some improvement was...
It means that when your amp is outputting 55 watts of power, the Polk will be 2dB louder than the other speaker at the same wattage. (The other speaker will need 80 watts of amplification to achieve the same sound level since it is 2dB less efficient).
A difference of 3dB consitutes an audible...
I experienced the exact same thing in my '06 and never could figure out where the rattling sound came from. Since the rattle was way more obvious with the convertible top up, I incorrectly assumed it was the top that made the noise... Tom Sessions (my vipertech) quickly figured out that it was...
At the factory, Dodge treats the top with a Daimler-Chrysler/Dodge spray-on product that is essentially the same as the RaggTop Fabric Protectant.
Depending on how often you wash, the factory treatment may last 6 months or many years.
Beware that if you need to use the RaggTop Fabric Cleaner...
I agree. Chrysler's rates are waaaaaaaaaay too high... I was quoted something in the 8.5% range! My dealer offered Chase at 5.44% which I thought was reasonable. I could probably have got 4~4.5% if I had chased down the cheapest rate on my own (PenFed is low!), but I figured it wasn't worth the...
I had Safelite replace the windshield on my 2002 Mustang. Perfect seal, no problems. (The only thing that arguably isn't 100% perfect is the alignement of the pillar trim, i.e. pure cosmetics. I'm not sure it was perfect originally, and I guess I could easily fix that myself so I don't think...
FWIW, the battery light on my 2008 is on until I start the engine. (My 2006 battery light was never on). My car needs the flash, so possibly that's the reason...
