    Flushed PS now I have a noise

    Any idea what the normal torque is on a tensioner? I measured mine at 20 ft lbs to move the pulley through its range. I am having a similar chirp and am trying to track it down. The current belt has about 2k miles on it, since I did the Roe SC install.

    Tensioner Removal

    Sorry, was not clear enough on my description. The bearings on the pulley seem to be OK. No play, grating, etc. But, there is a lot of slop around the bolt. But, once the pulley is bolted down onto the arm, there is no obvious wobble. I think this is normal.

    I'm trying to remove the tensioner on my 01 GTS. No problem on getting the pulley off, but I can't see how to remove the tensioner. Anybody know where it bolts on? From the bottom? How many bolts? Thanks.

    Stripes paint or vinyl ?

    Agreed. I have vinyl stripes, and they look great. The reason I went with vinyl vs. paint was I was not completely sure I wanted stripes. Now I am SURE I want stripes. Vinyl cost $750 from an IRL graphics company. I'm sure paint would be many thousands.

    Just a suggestion. You can paint the valve covers viper race yellow for a relatively few $$$, and IMHO improve the appearance of your Viper.

    ABS or non for a newbie

    Depends upon what you are going to do with the car. I've got an 01, exactly for the reason you are asking about. But, have never activated the ABS, even on the track. If you plan on driving the car hard, or tracking it aggressively, then go for it. Otherwise, you won't need it.

    Roe Supercharger

    Keep it simple to start. Leave out the W/M for now. Pin the crank with Roe's kit. Scary, but the right thing to do, and really not too dificult. Ask for help when you get confused. That will happen. VEC3 is fine for what you are doing.

    I used Woodhouse mounts. Very satisfied. I am sure I gained at least 15 HP!

    Plum is a great resource here. But I disagree with him on this. My Hurst short shifter is one of my best mods. But of course, I love them all....

    I drive my Subaru STi as my daily driver. It has been dinged to hell. Makes me weep. No marks on my Viper (yet). If you can accept the dings, just make sure your battery is current (so to speak) and you will have a great ride.

    The airbox was engineered for a given number of clips. There is always some design margin built in. Don't test that margin. Replace the missing clip. I also have Roe's smooth tubes. No issues at all. Not as "robust" looking as stock, but no corrugations which should lead to more laminar...

    I bought a GTS and have NEVER been dissatisfied in the least. That said, I saw a Gen III RT last week and followed it for a few blocks. Man, that is a nice car.

    Installed ROE fan control

    Easy install, except watch out for the temp sensor. Make sure you either epoxy it to the bracket real well (good idea) or strap it real well. The original "glue" gave up pretty quickly. That said, GOOD mod, and it really works well!
