    The Quest for 275 MPH

The ice boxes are located behind the rear wheels, 1 on each side. The cap to load them is inside the rear hatch. I estimate about 8 gals per side and we will use just water ice to start with. The future plan is to have coils inside the water tanks and run C02 thru the lines to chill the water. I...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

All the hoses are finished to include fuel, nitrous, catch can, intercoolers, pumps, oil lines, scavenge pump, etc. Battery disconnect and cables are connected. Still have all the wiring to complete but it's coming up. ProEFI is helping with the tuning and have already sent the base tune to...

Lol, I will keep that advice in mind.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Thanks Dean and BoondocSaint, I have this OCD thing about symmetry, everything has to have that mirror image of the other side if at all possible. That and I like a very logical layout where everything is easy to service and like you said Dean, you know exactly how it goes back together. Back to...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Here is a picture of the catch can mounted on top of the battery box. It passes thru the floor and out the rear bumper. We have a lot of hoses and piping still to do but at some point it will be back together and running. I'm so looking forward to that day.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Yes, 16s from the Peterson tank and 12s from the engine, it will vent under the car behind the tires just in case we dump a lot of oil. Keeps it out from under the tires.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Catch can is completed and read to install and connect all the hoses. It's getting busy in that rear hatch area, and we still have more things to stuff in there. At this point the game plan is to start it, get it on the hub dyno and make sure we have the numbers we planned on.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Blucifer progress is continuing, and Gearhead is working toward being able to start it soon. Here are some pictures of the catch can which is located in the rear of the car over the battery box. The Peterson oil tank will be vented into it along with the engine. Keeping it in the rear keeps any...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Thanks for the suggestions, I defiantly won't attempt 275 without being 100% ready and marking the nuts/bolts is a great idea to do also. We safety wire a lot of what I would consider critical fasteners, I try to avoid as many risks as I can and the ones that I can't I prepare for them as much...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Looking at the progress on Monday I'm on the fence as to if we will make it to Maine on time with a car that's been sorted/tested. There are so many custom "one off" parts in this build that engineering and designing everything to work together is tough. We do expect to start it soon, then if...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Yes thats the current plan. Don't have a plan B at the moment so hoping that works out.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Hope to run late August/early Sept if it all comes together in time. If its after that I dont know the next date we would have access to a runway. Its been a 4 year build and like any vehicle with big HP/torque there is always the possibility of little issues that can come up at the last minute.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Lol is there ever such a thing as too much NOS? Just to be clear the red bottles are fire suppression, so only 2 bottles are for nitrous and they are only used when IATs reach a certain temp. As to aero i hope to put it in a wind tunnel for testing prior to the run but I may run out of time. The...

    Gen1RSi twin turbo system info

What kind of power are you making or plan to make. If it's not over 800 or so the stock clutches are not bad, and are a lot less than the aftermarket stuff. Nth Moto makes some great clutches but not sure about ones for the Gen 1. I run their quad carbon clutch which is the most impressive...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Been forever since I posted anything, but I am closing in on my attempt at 275+ MPH. Blucifer is at Gearhead Fabrication in Jenson Beach FL getting a lot of final modifications for this run. I will start back posting pics, info and of course keep you guys informed once I make the attempt. I'm...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

I am so looking forward to this next run, on paper the 275 MPH is very much within reach of the car but I've been doing this a long time and I've seen the smallest issue crush that effort. Hoping for a great day and that I get to report another big speed back to everyone. Thanks to everyone for...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Hello everyone, been a while since I posted anything but there have been a lot of updates to getting it prepped to run soon. The engine is back together with new billet crank from Callies, new Callies rods, new custom Wiseco pistons, all new ARP studs top and bottom, lots of machine work to...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

I've been busy on Blucifer over the holidays, mostly in the engine. I was concerned about the stock crank being able to handle the WHP level we are going to, so I bought a billet crank from Callies. Then that led to new Callies rods, why not since we are in there anyway. Then of course the rods...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Been a while since I've posted any updates. We are in process of a refresh on the engine, new rings, bearings, Greg Good refreshed the heads with beryllium copper exhaust seats and Inconel valves. Also drillled and tapped rear of the heads to help with the cooling issues the last 2 cylinders...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

Got the blankets in for the turbos, really good fit. I'm starting to wrap/sleeve the hot side pipes so I can re-assemble them and then finish up the cold side. Heads are at Greg Good's place right now so I need those back before I can wrap up the cold side, no intake located keeps us from...

    The Quest for 275 MPH

New ACR-X rotors installed up front, lets me run a slightly larger brake pad, I will take all the stopping power I can get. Hot side starting to go back together, I'm waiting on Design Engineering sleeves and turbo blankets which should be here in coming week. There is a very dim light at the...
