Agreed! Also insurance companies are totaling them because they can’t find simple parts. Mainly because they don’t know where to look.

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

I hear your argument and your opinion and you’re entitled to it. But yeah I’ve followed all Viper values like a psychopath for the last 6+ years. They are off base in their article. Gen 2 RT10’s have dropped about $10k on average in the last 1-2 years and went from selling in the mid $50’s to...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

Yup that’s what I was getting at. It’s the costs of modifying them. Gen 1 to make any real power is going to require boost and a stand alone. You’re already at the $20k+ number. No one’s buying a Gen 1 to dump that type of money in it. Well except me because I’m an idiot. Gen 2 you can...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

Looking for a friend the last several months I can assure you they did not drop, well at least the GTS’s I remember in 2020 when you could buy a 96 B&W for $40k. I believe more than one went for around $90k +/- at Mecum last week. The only color that’s stayed at the $50-$60k level is red...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

Food for thought. The majority of Vipers listed for sale across all gen’s are 40k miles and below. Typical average is 20k-40k miles. Remember when these came out, most buying them were rich and wealthy people. The majority didn't drive them. One of the big reasons Hennessey was able to take...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

You misspelled Gen 3 Vert wrong. Gen 3 Coupe prices have skyrocketed. R titles bringing $50k Meanwhile you can get a nice Gen 3 Vert for $35$-40k. By far the best bang for your buck in the Viper world.

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

Unfortunately it’s never going to happen with current technology. Many Viper businesses have tried to go down this road, even Brian Jones and the money it would take to do it far exceeds the ROI. Realistically you’re selling 10-20 sets of headlights a year. It’ll take you 5-10 years to break...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

You and everyone else saying this. The Covid spike in car pricing happened well before the headlight craze and other parts reaching stupid levels. I would know. I was one of the guys who was offered $8k for my Gen 1/2 spare set of headlights and let them go. Kind of hard to claim the parts...

Hagerty: 5 Cars Taking Losses to Start 2026

Tried helping a buddy search the country for a nice GTS with lower mileage under $70k for several months just recently. Couldn’t do it. Everything had high miles or was a basket case that was under that. Or the other eww, it was red. That’s higher than it’s been the last several years. Again...

Subjective. Who knows where they pull their information from. Just seen some 2nd Gen GTS Mecum results and thought they did as expected and as high as they have been so I’m not sure where they are getting their data from. I own the first 4 Gen’s and personally find the Gen 2 GTS to be extremely...

    Gen 3 tuner near VA

Ironically that’s who did the terrible tune on my one Supercharged Viper

    Gen 3 tuner near VA

I’d tell you to call Havik but they’ve stopped tuning stock PCMs because of all the issues with HP and SCT in the last 3 years. The remote tuner that probably does the most Vipers I don’t recommend because he tunes super conservative and very rich. So rich in fact that my last Viper I bought...

    Oil Pressure

Thanks for clarifying. That makes perfect sense and why the 03 auxiliary gauges read wrong values with my non 03 main cluster. When I changed to the correct auxiliary gauges everything works as it should. All makes sense now. Thanks for taking the time to explain it so thoroughly

    Oil Pressure

Yeah definitely did not do that. However it’s been working good for years now ‍

    Oil Pressure

Not sure if I’m following on what you’re saying about swapping both. Are you referencing the main Speedo/cluster and the Auxiliary gauges? Or are there even more modules behind the dash that I’m not tracking
  24. B

    Oil Pressure

….yes I swapped the entire row of aux gauges….I was not saying I only swapped the oil pressure gauge. My car came with Canadian/Metric gauges and was switching over to Standard. Plugged the standard auxiliary gauges in and noticed the oil press numbers were off from where my 04 Gen 3 reads on a...

    Oil Pressure

I had accidentally swapped an 03 gauge with different numbers into my 09 and I recall it reading different numbers which is how I caught it. My memory also ***** so I could be dreaming it up. But going off of memory
