recommended power upgrades for 2009 ACR

What are the best power upgrades for an 09 ACR? Headers, cat-back, intake, and heads? Dont want to dig in too much, and don't want to change the driveability much either. What do you recommend? Any issues with doing certain mods on a GEN IV engine?

What ever happened to Leathal Viper?

I'm still alive....It's been a couple years since I have been on the site since I sold my Viper back in '03. I have been fickle with cars ever since; trying out Porsche, a couple Lamborghinis, and now have a Ford GT. Thought I would check in with this site because I started receiving a few...

    05 ZO6 - ?

Yes, the new Z-06 will be an outstanding performer. It will be interesting to see what the final price is. They claim they will not make the same mistake they did with the ZR-1 and overprice it. If this car ends up being sub $60k, I think we will see some serious pricing pressure on SRTs. I...

Autolifters 4 post lift, any good ? Hows the pricing ?

Great thread! I wish I read it earlier. I was very close to purchase an Autolifter 4 post lift, but I spoke to a couple other companies that shared with me that many of their components are not made in the USA (hence the long wait time). Truthfully, it is not the end of the world if parts are...

    Stroked vs Bored

Re-sleeving the engine will take care of overbore concerns. This is not that difficult to do and will make the engine last for many, many miles (with the right sleeves). We did this on my 750hp NA motor just as added precaution since Car and Driver test drives and customer demo rides are hard on...

    Stroked vs Bored

We used cats and passed smog with my 750hp Viper. You do need a very high flowing exhaust (we did a custom header for this level of flow), but certainly attainable with not only cats, but passing stringent emission tests. Without cats or a concern over emissions, then 800hp is attainable.

    Stroked vs Bored

I had a 550 cubic inch motor on my Viper. The challenge is that it is expensive to 'do it right', and, as a result, it is not uncommon for corners to be cut. We spent almost a year working with a number of companies to come up with the right mix of parts; reworking all the internals and...

New Car & Driver with Supercar Challenge just came

This is the same comments many people made about 2 years ago when I had my yellow all-motor Viper in the event. The 0-60, 0-100, and 1/4 mile times are not done at a dragstrip, the time and mph are not measured the same way, and, in no way, should be compared to a dragstrip time. However, the...

    Head Gaskets

Funny you should ask.... I have a pair of custom made copper gaskets. They are made for GEN II Viper heads. I paid extra to have a special coating applied and treated with the copper to make certain they will last forever. They are even re-usable! If you are interested, I will give you a great...

Best Heads/Cam Package for the Money

I was able to muster a gain of about 160 rwhp with heads, cam, and rockers. However, I would encourage you not to make a decision based on peak power. I would look at power throughout the entire rpm range. I sacrificed peak power for about 40 more rwhp at 3000-3500 rpms. You will spend much more...

Are there any aftermarket pistons out there?

Tom and Vipers- I agree. They are works of art. When I ordered a couple sets from them 2 years ago, I found out that anything for the Viper was custom. I had an engineer design the dish, ring heights, and overall dimensions. They worked great and can take loads of punishment. Don't try anything...

Any of you power craving monsters interested in some custom head gaskets??

I just received an e-mail from someone, so, in case it's not clear, these gaskets are brand new; still in original wrapping and packaging. Thx.

Any of you power craving monsters interested in some custom head gaskets??

I have a set of custom head gaskets for GENII Viper heads. I had them made for my LETHAL 750 when we were going to upgrade it to the LETHAL 1000 (supercharger). Unfortunately I sold my car before we got to finish it up. Anyway, these head gaskets will not blow out under any load and they will...

    '96 Blown GTS, Pictures....

Re: \'96 Blown GTS, Pictures.... Matt- I told you that you'd love the results of the pacakge I put together for you. I know you seemed a little skeptical at first. At first you thought there would be too much power and then you still wanted more!! I enjoyed working with the guys at the...

Are there any aftermarket pistons out there?

I would ONLY USE CP Pistons. If you compare them with the other major names out there you'll see why... Amazing build quality, precision, and fitment.

250 degree red overheat - the outcome

I didn't see that you described any sort of examination of the water pump or pulley. I faulty water pump may appear to work great under normal driving conditions, but then as you put the car under heavy load (ie hill climbing) and then up the rpms, the pump or possibly pulley will not work...

Are heads and cam a popular mod for Gen II?

Here were my results before and after heads and cam (with exhaust upgrade)....the interesting thing I always look at is the mid-range and low-end improvements in power and torque. Everyone is so overly concerned with high CFM flow numbers that they forget what happens to the mid range and low...

    0-100-0

Interesting data....it definitely put a smile on my face knowing that when my LETHAL 750 Viper was featured in Car and Driver Magazine we managed a sub 11.5 sec. 0-100-0 time. On street tires and pump gas we did 0-100 in 7.3 sec and 100-0 in under 3.9 sec, and this was on a slighy damp surface...

    It's Done!

Re: It\'s Done! I'd check into it. You could have got the rich code at startup depending on where the O2s are located or at other times during the tuning process or at different rpms. It's one of those codes that requires your PCM to be cleared. If it were me, I would not be doing at WOT runs...

    It's Done!

Re: It\'s Done! Great numbers! Looks like great hp/tq curves! Although I can't see every rpm with the overlay of the peak numbers, it does seem like the A/F ratio is a little on the lean side. I know on my stroker engine, at WOT the A/F was never above 13.0:1, even at 2200 rpms. It actually...

Viper Specific Fluidyne Radiators - $700.00 Plus Shipping

In case you are wondering.....yes the Paxton kit will work with the Fluidyne. It takes a bid of modification/fabrication, but the end result is much better and more effective than the initial setup. I actually routed the air filter in the fascia around where the fog light openings are. The air...

Re: Coming to the Viper family first...One \'hellofa\' deal on a 750hp + Viper!! Well...what is not so fortunate for me can be an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY for some lucky owner who wants a VERY UNIQUE Viper. The other party that was interested in my car just notified me that he has a lack of funds...

Re: Coming to the Viper family first...One \'hellofa\' deal on a 750hp + Viper!! Nope, ab, don't have those extra injectors anymore, but I do have a beautiful 750hp+ '01 ACR instead if you are interested... :-) :D Sorry. -Wayne
