I heard a report on the radio this morning Ford unvieled the GT at their test track. A few things mentioned were, 0-60 3.7 sec, top speed just over 200 mph, and a sticker price of 150K. Makes the SRT look like a bargan.
They were talking about trucks on the Today show yesterday. The guy showing the trucks siad Dodge has a 500hp Ram coming out that would sell in the mid 40 price range.
Re: Texas does it again... Hang\'em high...
Thank goodness I live in Arkansas. Wild Bill and I have a great play ground. I can't remeber the last time I've seen a cop in the mountains.
I was watching Monster Garage tonight and a build team made a rock crawler with a Ford GT40 Yellow/black stripes kit car body. I now understand what all you guys are talking about after seeing the kit car body. I would hate to shell out 120K for a super car and go to the local 4x4 jamboree and...
Ya'll don't sweat it. They've already developed the coupe and it's only a matter of time. I don't think they would spend the time and money developing the comp. coupe for the sole purpose of racing. That market is very narrow. As soon as the new C6 and Ford GT coupes come out the Viper coupe...
I'm looking forward to the GT. All the GT will do is make the Viper better. There is alot more horse power hiding in that V10, and better handling in Coupe form. Competition makes everyone step up their game.
Dang man, just when I thought you were making up with all the Vette boys. I'll tell you one thing though, if I could swing it I'd have a Vette, 350X, Supra Twin Turbo, Honda TRX450R Quad, and pretty much anything else that goes fast and looks cool.
I was 22 when I bought my first GTS. If I were you, I would not buy one unless you already have a daily driver. Those Gen I RT's can be a pain during bad weather, and maintenece is not cheap. You really have to look after these cars. People love to hang all over them, and they will get the crap...
The Viper may not be here for the long run, but I do believe DC will always have a presense in upper end sport car market. With the new Ford GT and C6 C'vette coming out I don't see them dropping the Viper anytime soon. If you haven't read the speed test in Motor Trend you need to. The SRT-10...
Call JC Whitney and get you one of those really nice class five bumper hitch and receiver. You can tow your boat and scare off the kids with that ball sticking out. Works on my dually! lol
Re: \'94 RT/10 turns over and over and over ...
Dougs right, sounds like a fuel pressure issue. If the pump is malfunctioning and the fuel pressure is to high at idle you'll have to crank engine multiple times to start it. How does it run once you get it fired? If it runs fine you can just...
Re: Need Help making a decision between a red 97 RT & 01 Yellow RT.
Thanks for all the info. This place is the best source for accurate Viper info. Just thought I'd let every one know I decided on the 01' yellow RT. Less maintance issues = more fun, and they only made race yellow for two...
Do you mean the 97 is faster, or slower? I've also heard the 97' models have a tendency to heat up more than the 98-02 models. Didn't they upgrade the cooling system in some way around the 98' model year.
That would be awesome, but unfortunately I sold the GTS almost a year ago. I've been without a Viper for a while now, and the last one I had was a red GenI RT/10.
I've found a 97' red RT with 2K miles without the factory hard top, and a yellow 01' RT 2K miles w/ factory hard top. There is a significant price difference between the two, but I don't know much about the 97 model year. Anybody know what the pro's and cons are between the 97 and 01 RT model...
