    MGW First Strike Race Knob----or short shaft ??? I need advice!

    Add me to the list of satisfied "short-shifters". MGW's shifter makes an absolute world of difference. I wouldn't think twice about making the change. Plus.....if you like the look of the old one, you can turn it into a cool desk decoration!!

    Its good to be back

    Didn't read Lee's back luck with an M5 until after my last post. Sorry to hear. All I know is my personal experience and, as I indicated, the car's been in the shop twice in 28,000 miles.....both for oil changes and factory service only. Mine is a 2002 so perhaps some changes were made.

    As the owner of both an M5 and SRT-10, all I can say is they are completely different vehicles. With 100 less HP and a lot more weight, the M5 obviously doesn't have the neck-snapping acceleration of the SRT. I think the 0-60 is about 1 sec slower and, having never had either at the track, I...
