GTS or RT/10? What should I get?

Good decision! As far as the original question, let me just put it like this: in a couple of weeks, max, I'm going to have to put the hard top on the RT. That's always a really sad day for me. You just feel so cooped up (pun intended!). RT forever...

    True Kumho sizes?

I dunno - but they grip so well, what's a half inch difference? My Ecsta V700s seem pretty fat on those rear wheels.

    Oil change prices?

Personally, I would not trust my Viper to a Dodge dealership. Vipertech, different matter, but the run-of-the-mill service dept. - no way. It's a pretty easy job, why not do it yourself? That way you know it's done right.

3.07 to 3.55 on the Street???

Kurt, probably closer to 440 - Gen II's (98) tend to be pretty strong stock, with headers, exhaust, K/N and smooth tubes, probably +35 or so... In the 440-450 ball park with those mods. The gears just move the torque band, they don't increase HP. But more torque sooner equals a lot of...

3.07 to 3.55 on the Street???

I have 3.73s and love them. Kumhos on the rear are a must. :) This is with headers, smooth tubes, and exhaust only - probably way too much with more engine mods, but at around 450 WHP, it rocks.

Disappointing day on Khumo V700 on drag strip

My Kuhmo's don't hook up at all well below about 65 degrees. I took my nephew out last Thanksgiving and temp was around 60, and I had axle hop so bad on the first-to-second shift I thought I was going to break something... Above 70, and fully warmed up, they are great - on a sticky VIR road...

    Anti-freeze smell?

I get that smell faintly once in awhile and always wonder if my water pump may have a small leak around the seal... I don't see any leakage, but if it's small enough, it will evaporate and leave little trace. It's enough to make me think about proactively replacing the pump. How long have...

Help me choose between Yellow SRT and Yellow Z06

The first couple of times people pull up beside you to snap photos of your car with their cell phones will settle any lingering doubts as to whether you made the right choice in buying a Viper.

Got 'er a little sideways today

Re: Got \'er a little sideways today Yep, it'll bite with no warning. When I first got my snake, I had the rear start rotating to the right on a second-to-third redline shift at around 80 mph on a dark country road. Tigthened me up, to say the least. There was a small rise in the road and...

    Edelbrock vs B&B Headers

I've heard they add about 20HP to a stock engine. I would think the primary advantage for SC system would be in flow-through. You're moving so much more fuel-air through the system, it has to go somewhere, so they will probably enable the SC system to make quite a bit more HP than without...

Gas Gauge "Jumps" For No Reason

Re: Gas Gauge It's the sender in the tank. I know there was thread on this a couple of years ago... Mine did it once when I got real low on fuel - apparently some kind of chemical reaction on the terminals of the unit caused by certain additives in the fuel (or them not being there.) Change...

1" Seat Lowering Kit or 2"?

Re: 1 Two inch kit was the only possible way to fit 6-5 of me in. I don't think it moves it forward much, and really tall people need to rake the seat back a bit more anyway. Hardest thing is getting in and out of the car with the seat dropped that much.

Jon B from the PartsRack, worst experience I ever had!

I guess that's where I see Jon B as a special case, then. He's "one of us," a fellow Viper enthusiast, and I will support his business by throwing him "loose change" in the form of a battery tender I bought from him, for example, rather than to some bigger company like Walmart, maybe some MGW...

Jon B from the PartsRack, worst experience I ever had!

Y'know, I've been enjoying this thread, because it's entertaining and illustrative of all the vagaries of human nature reflected in the marketplace, but this one's got me scratching my head. Jon is supposed to "make good" on a 24 dollar radio knob he didn't manufacture??? He probably makes a...

    First ticket!

There are at least two issues here. First is "street racing." A guy in a Bimmer "wanted some" of the Viper. Well, that's kind of retarded in itself, isn't it? What was he trying to prove, that the sky is blue? An M5 is no match for a Viper, everyone (should) know that. Even so, I'm not...

If price was the same, would you go Coupe or Vert??

Nice job! I really like that "track day" conversion. Does the spoiler just bolt on? What happens to the mounting hardware/positions/holes when it's a vert? Please post details or a link. :)

    Edelbrock vs B&B Headers

Wow, how many miles did that take to occur? Anyone else have that problem with Edelbrocks? Mine have been fine thus far. Is this the CARB-certified set they sell?

If price was the same, would you go Coupe or Vert??

Since the snake is a weekend car, I'd be hard pressed to buy a car whose top doesn't come off or go away. It doesn't really matter that many days in the summer are not really that comfortable topless, or that bad weather means putting a top on or up. It's just so worth it on those perfect days...
