Would $100k ($140k sticker) on a new 13 Launch Blue/White stripes GTS with 300 miles be too much? I figure that is about how much a 15 GTS might be. Would I be an idiot to spend that on 13' launch?
That is not the main reason GTR's hold value. They were priced in $60's originally. Yet produced in relatively low volumes while slaying everything else. Also it has a huge fan following in the x and millenials.

Well, not entirely but... Not sure if you guys have covered this but clearly (and hopefully) Vipers will not be depreciating very much given the $15k drop. If it went down much more it won't be exotic.
My theory is that this $ reduction WILL in fact increase demand thereby reduce...
Gang,
First of all I used to have a 98 GTS so I'm not new to Viperland. Got an XKR now and have been planning to move to something more sport for some time now. Bruce has crossed over and I know he's loving it. Initially I thought I MUST try something new and definitely mid-engined as its...
Nice plate yes, but slightly bottom feeding for hand-build Viper no? I mean, yes the C7 is no slouch by any means. And with the deep pockets of GM they have an incredible racing pedigree - heck I've owned a C5 Z06.
But for sheer kicks on a plate I would not make like my "exotic" Viper's arch...
Good looking car... but 4-wheeling. It will be incredibly good after lowering. Like my XK. Great design by Ian. But those fenders and the taught muscular nature of the car is brought home and becomes gobsmackingly gorgeous after a drop!
Viper will simply be nasty. I never got around to...
So I'm in the throws of shopping a Gen V to replace my 11' XKR. I hate fender gap and will probably lower it some. Was wondering if anyone has lowered and/or bought wheels yet?
Is the suspension adjustable at all or do we need to buy springs?
Bruce, you made a great choice. Saw your post in our XKR forums. Will miss you there. As a former owner of a GTS I know you will love this car. Your post has me considering one as well ;-)
You know how I've been bellyaching about wanting a 3rd pedal for some time. Love the sound...
So the M6 has crept up on the radar. Sound with exhaust is insane and dropped on wheels it looks good. Can't seem to fully pry myself away from the Viper. But at least I know that when I finally choose I did an exhaustive search! The M6 gets worse mpg than Viper however!
I have definitely heard of folks doing coil-overs and the ride improving. Perhaps the spring rate is still high but the shock rebound is very tight so it controls how rapidly the car comes back up. Not sure. But I can also say that on a 993 911 I bought that already had coil-overs the ride...
I'm considering a Coupe. However, one of the concerns I have is the ride. When I take the wife out I'd like her to be able to lay her head on the headrest if she's tired and not get it knocked of! Have any of you done coil overs which have improved handling as well as the ride?
Ok, so I think I'm ruling out the Vantage. I drove an 07 and the steering was actually too heavy. I typically like heavy steering as I loved one of my 93 NSX's which didn't have power steering; as well as my Elise which had none. But for some reason the 07 Vantage felt like the car weighed...
