I really loved my 2003 vert. Unfortunately my roe racing cam was installed incorrectly. She made 555 rwhp on the dyno and then ran worse and worse till the engine locked. I sold the car with a blown engine and took a huge loss. Was devastated. Saved up for a 2015 viper.....but got the r8...- tbi

Vipers faster straightline due to power weight and gearing. Zr1s better on the track due to tires and brakes. Both are simply amazeing. Vipers much rarer and looks much better with a higher quality interior. vipers all engine. God bless America- tbi

Viper had more mph in the quartermile. interesting considering the dyno results to say the leaste. Goes to show that the viper is as fast or faster straight line then tge zr1. Thats bad azz right there. I belieave the viper is closeing the gap on the road course and soon a viper driver will...- tbi

Yep...ive seen the gen4 door to door with the zr1 as well.. they both dynoed 530-550 rwhp and where within a 100 pounds of eachother. The genv should be mopping up nicely on a regular 545 rwhp zr1. But this ringer gm supplied isnt makeing it look that way. Have faith. even at just 558 rwhp...- tbi

Ummmmmmm.... It is faster to 60 and 100 mph. they also appear dead even to 130 mph. both trapping in the 126-129 mph range in head to head quarter mile testing.- tbi

That zr1 is a ringer.... The gen4 viper and zr1 both ALWAYS dyno in the 520-545 rwhp range. The strongest examples hit in the 545-555 range with the beaste of beaste hitting 560 rwhp. So now a stock zr1 hits 570 rwhp??? And the more powerful than gen4 genv just 558? Well its very evedent...- tbi

Blue streak I gotta disagree with you. The gen3 came out in 03 and with a 11.7@123 mph 1/4 mile it bested the fgt in a 2004 head to head test and not till 06 was it trounced by the z06. In 2008 the gen4 beat the z06 in straight line speed as well as the road coutse in every single review. The...- tbi

Nothing to change. a 13 non acr outperforms a 10 nonacr in every way. it has the 96 gts look so many wanted and an amazeing interior. It beats the gtr and even 458 ect. Zr1 is an amazeing performer but not special. srt could give us a 120k srt8 that ran 10s and did LS in the 1.33 range. But...- tbi

Well..... So far weve seen.... 0-60 in 3.2 1/4 mile in 11.4 1/4 mile mph at 128.7 Laguana Secca at 1.35x way I figure it is this new viper runs toe to toe with a 2008 acr on a track and is faster straightline with a 206 mph top speed. My humble opinion. The zr1 is set up better with better brakes and tires. it is what it is. average driver or pro driver theres a two second gap around LS. However I still wont be surprised if a pro from the srt team beats the zr1s new record. Number two....dang 0-60 in 3.2 is movin and it...- tbi

Gotta add my two cents... Geeze the zr1 is a badazz car. no shame in tying the quarter mile and loseing on the roadcourse. The zr1 is maxed out and the viper just getting broke in. Rest asured the viper will be faster in the 0-150 mph test. Im expecting 15.9 seconds vs 16.5 for the zr1. Im...- tbi

Stock gen4s have went 10.9 @130 mph. The gen5 is a lil quicker. I suspect 10.7 @ 132 . Someone will likely pull a 10.6 @ 133 from a stocker at MIR. But despite these 10 sec miracle passes from zr1s and vipers...I do belieave your average driver is gonna run 11.3 @ 128 mph in a gen5 no prob at...- tbi

Id personally have to call pulling harder on the straights than a zr1 a bit more than half full. Only cars that can do that are the Bugatti Aventador ccx and now the Viper.- tbi
