Look at the previous gen viper when it went extinct. Did it become a collector?
Buy it to drive it. There will more than likely be a next gen viper and history will repeat itself.
I'm pricing out my expected 1 of 1 build and debating whether the ACR interior option of $6000 is worth its value, specifically the alcantara seats. For those who track their cars, do you find the stock seats adequately bolstered and supportive?
My initial reaction is to get the non-ACR...
Did we ever hear whether the contract was indeed signed to close the plant?
Also, is everyone assuming that a plant shutdown would also discontinue the production of the viper vs transferring build to another facility?
This would've been a better story if Chrysler took ownership of the issue and repaired the defects from the beginning. Good to see forum influence and the community help you thru, but I certainly hope this isn't the norm to seek warranty claims from SRT.
After you determine what is normal, as far as the duration & triggers of lightning go, what's your next step? I don't see this playing out very well if you refuse to take your car to a dealer for service.
I would be itching to drive the car if I were you.
It's a manufacturer's warranty, not a dealer's warranty. Find a good dealer in your area and have it serviced. It will be honored regardless where you purchased the car from.
Hopefully it's as simple as a battery replacement!
That's a big leap of assumptions. Have a dealer review your issue under warranty. Personally I wouldn't try to fix it yourself, which can complicate your warranty claim.
Ariel Atoms aren't particularly impressive, at least the ones I've seen on the track. I was considering a Formula Mazda (or the like), but would really like a street/track duty vehicle.
As of now, looks like the GenV TA version with a change in suspension would fit the bill. I'll probably...
I'm big on aero, best shocks money can buy and a good set of R comps. I'm personally not favorable to any electronics as in traction control and electronic dampening. Give me a basic car that does the job well, providing confidence inspiring feedback. A nice smooth gear box, manual vs...
Not looking into any luxury packages and comparing base vs base models, the Z06 is significantly less than Gen5. Since the car will be modified to suit my driving style, I'm not looking to purchasing any OEM track packages.
Let's not turn this into a corvette vs viper post, trust me... I'll...
I've been lurking these forums as I've gained some interest in the Gen5 viper. Being a track junkie, performance is high on my priorities and place the Viper and Corvettes as the cars to beat. I'm somewhat surprised at the price tag SRT has set, and figured the bulk of the cost attributes to the...
