Thanks! That actually helps alot. I think the last shop gave me toe out instead of in which made the car super unstable in tight turns. I know what the specs they aligned it to so with some math can figure out about how much to bring it in.
I should have 1/10th of an in Toe Out so 1 turn would...
Gen 3. I looked in the manual and I can’t find where it specifically states the change in degrees per turn.
I guess in theory there is no need to know since you would measure it as you adjust to get where you want.
I’m just having a rough run with getting any sort of work done for the Viper...
I have an ebay one. Been working fine for the last couple years. Only real issue is if you’re using wi-fi or bluetooth for carplay or android auto it’ll lose connection from time to time.
I think if you install the USB port it should solve that but besides that one complaint I haven’t had any...
As far as height goes you’re going to want about 4.5” from the frame to the ground right behind the front wheel well. I was scraping on steep inclines/declines at 4” but not as much at 4.5”.
Rear height will depend on how much rake you want and what generation car. I think gen 1 and 2s can run...
I have not. I would have to see if I can get the stethoscope on the bell housing but good call as I’m at a lost.
Would be a very weird noise for a throw out bearing.
I also don’t feel anything in the shifter that I can tell. The noise starts right at start up with the clutch pedal in though.
Just an update. So it’s not an exhaust leak. I checked everything was tight on the exhaust. No signs of leaks. I don’t see any cracking on the headers. Redid the exhaust mounts thinking maybe something was loose.
The only thing is that over the winter the tapping can no longer be felt in the...
Thanks all. I'm used to reputable businesses responding to internet inquiries and when they don't or stop it's usually a sign of bad things. However, they do have good reputations on this site so I wanted to double check if anyone knew anything.
Anyone know if either of these two shops are still in business? Haven't been able to get a hold of either shop via multiple emails.
JTSV owes me a throttle body and I was looking to get some work done at Havik but neither shop responds to my emails.
Thanks. I will keep that in mind. This is a fairly noticeable obnoxious tapping noise though. So I should be able to hear it regardless of where I place the "stethoscope" but the inside of the engine sounds smooth. I can barely hear the valves closing.
This tapping noise can be felt in your...
Update #2: Pulled the valve cover off and found nothing. No collapsed lifter. No bent rod. No broken springs. All rockers are tight.
I did some exploratory listening using a 3/8 extension but nothing can be heard inside the engine. If anything the engine sounds really quiet and smooth.
I...
Update: I was able to listen to it while the engine was revved and it sounds like the passenger side valvetrain. Doesn't do it at all RPMs and like I said it seems to go away after 4k.
It's not the "sewing machine" noise. This was a very noticeable change. Car runs fine though. Pulls strong and...
No, it’s a rapid tapping that goes up with revs.
But it can’t be heard unless the engine is under load, only under 4k rpms and can only be felt under the passenger footwell.
My car just recently developed a weird tapping noise. It seems to go up with Revs but the weird thing is it only does it under load. Revving it in neutral or with the clutch in is smooth.
I only get the tapping noise with the clutch engaged and below 4k rpms.
You can also feel it in the frame...
I got a set of Redshift Motorsports coilovers. They are revalved BC Racings. I am loving them so far. You get a shock dyno with the new valving matched to your chosen spring rates.
Cost a little over 2k. Pretty good price for a custom valved coilover with Swift springs
The wiper seals seem to be degrading on the stock shocks more and more causing the fluid to bleed out from what I can see.
I would double check the lines and hoses for routing. These cars were hand built so they are all a little different. My power steering return line was rubbed through by the...
