well remember these passes were 1 after another, with less than 1 min. cool down befor the next pass. The clutch is fine now after it had some time to cool off.

there were like only 15 cars at the track! we got in a bunch of runs

run #1 12.72@116 (lots of tire spin)
#2 12.61@116 (ridding the clutch to cut down on tire spin)
#3 12.53@116 (I think i'v got it)
#4 12.50@116
#5 12.51@117
#6 12.44@117
#7 12.49@115
#8 12.46@117
#9 12.50@116
#10 12.54@116
#11 12.48@116
#12 12.54@116
#13 12.60@115
#14 28.78@22 (clutch went byby)

man I should bracket race this thing

so the best pass for 100% stock GTS ACR at 3600ft is 12.44@117... not bad

I hate to do this to you Chad but a 12.44 / 117 at 3600ft is equal to a 11.90 / 122 at sea level (NHRA correction factor). We sea level guys are just going to have to try harder!! Our temps no doubt do hold us back a bit.
When are you heading out to Sac Raceway again?

Vipers have oiling problms?? realy? hell with a 10Q oil pan, and a $89,000 car built to go fast I am shocked! What about top speed runs? Hell in my 93 Stealth with a stock bottem end I have made 1000's of 11 sec 1/4 mile passes and even held 180+MPH for 60 miles (used a full tank of gas doing that 60 miles).
And that is in a motor that is now making over 200hp per L! and running 25+psi of boost.

You definately need to try a different approach. I have never killed a clutch yet with hard street and track driving in the past 2 years. I changed it out after the first year just too see how bad it was, but never burned one up.

the clutch is fine now, it just got too hot and went up. This is very commen with drag racing and full faced clutch disks. I am working with RPS to make a Carbon/Carbon (like on F1 cars) twin disk for the vipers that will put a 100% end to this.

you must have had one mean clutch in that stealth... my 92 VR-4 would get about 3 good launches, and the clutch would be done....

A Formula-1 car is the LAST place I would look for a strong clutch set-up...

the 95 stealth was running a RPS stage 3 6 puck clutch with a 2900lb plate, the 93 was running a Muller twin disk ($2500 and not as good as I would hope)

I have now found the Braking point of the RPS stage 3 in the 95, las week end I ran [email protected] with a 1.72 60ft at River City race way in TX, with the clutch slipping in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. the car was running 29PSI of boost and a 50 shot of NOS, on a 100% stock long block, all Bolt-on's. I went to a 70hp shot of NOS Hoping to baby it on the shifts, and gain it back on the big end, but I broke 2 pistons at the 1/8th mile mark, and coasted to a 12.70@70mph[img]http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif[/img] lolol

here is the link to me [email protected] pass

the Carbon/carbon should be reddy for my stealth in 2 weeks, i'll let you know how it works. if it will live in a 750+hp stealth turning all 4 wheels, and 3880lb with out me in it, it will live in anything
