Hello Everyone

This happened to one of our club member here in Sweden after he had drive with his car on a racetrack.

Are the GTS Wheels so bad quality so you cannot use them on racetracks or? Has this happens to any of you in US that are lot on racetracks with your Vipers?

Its happened before. I am sure I have seen some threads about those wheels (the cast ones?). Thats not a fun way to find out though.

Tomas,
It matters how the rims were built. The 96 to early 97 rims were cast(you'll see a weld line thru the center if the rim all the way around the inside). The bulk of the 97 thru 98 were forged and are much stonger. NEVER use the cast rims for racing :(

This is a very, very well documented issue with 96-97 wheels.

Everything you want/need to know about Vipers can be found or answered on this board. If your friend continues to track or has any questions at all have him visit here first.

Does he know about the steering rack recall?
