Air Bags and Racing

I did a search on Air-Bags and I could not find an answer to my question. Is it recomended that I disable the drivers AirBag for closed course events? I know that for the STATELINE OPEN ROAD CHALLANGE, they have made it mandatory....If so, how do I do it so that I can enable it again for street use?
