I shall be gone approx. 3 months this winter and wondering which is better for storage in a garage that will reach 40 deg. on some nights. The gen. 3 manual says the battery saver mode should hold the battery 3 months. I hate to leave a battery tender plugged in for 3 months without anyone home. Any thoughts or comments on which would be the best method?

With a fully charged, not too old Sears die-hard Platinum in our Gen III, the battery saver mode has let me go longer than 3 months without failing to start...closer to 4 month in one case.
