Fathers Day weekend is fast approaching and if you'd like to enjoy a great day out driving your Viper in beautiful Mendocino County then read on...
You are invited to attend the 14th annual “A Taste of Redwood Valley” where a rich experience awaits you as you tour the wineries and taste the wines and foods at the 13 participating wineries.
As luck would have it, I know one of the winery owners and they've graciously offered to give two free passes (normally $25 each!) for each Viper or Vette, which considering our Vipers are two seaters works out perfectly (works for Vettes as well
Here's the link to the event:

It's a nice drive, as we pass through Vallejo and go around Sears Point (OK, Infineon Raceway) on our way to Hwy 101 via Petaluma, and continue up through the Redwood Empire on 101 North until we just pass Ukiah. According to yahoo maps, it's 135 miles from Pleasant Hill, and they estimate the approximate travel time at 2 hours 18 mins (which is probably conservative).
UPDATED MEETING PLACE:
Meet at 8:30am for coffee and check out the rides (Thanks Dave!). Then we'll head out at 9:00am.
Meet at 101 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek – On the corner of Ygnacio Valley Road and Oakland Blvd – Between the BART tracks and Hwy 680.
If coming from the South or West, exit 680/24 at Ygnacio Valley Road – Make left hand u-turn at end of ramp – First building/lot on your right.
If you’re coming from the North, from 680 Southbound exit North Main Street (Head South-Downtown – Just keep to your right) – 1/4 mile, veer right onto California – Another 1/4 mile, turn right onto Ygnacio Valley – At first light, turn left onto Oakland Blvd – First building/lot on your right.
The Corvette group will be joining us as well, and are hosting the starting point with coffee and goodies (Thanks!).
Our first stop and rendezvous point in Redwood Valley will be:
Redwood Valley Cellars
7051 North State Street,
Redwood Valley, CA 95470
Phone (707) 485-0322
Redwood Valley Cellars is located in the heart of Mendocino County wine country, approximately 2 hours north of San Francisco just off of Highway 101. Here we'll pick up our passes/wine glasses, map of the wineries, and start the tour. Afterwards, we can meet up for Dinner, and then head home.
Please RSVP me @ [email protected] so I know how many passes we need to reserve.
Bring plenty of sunscreen, and your GMR radios.
