So, I was using a test light on my Viper. I was trying to see if my fuel selonoid was getting power when the throttle switch was engaged. I connected one end of my test light to ground and then probed the hot wire on the noid. When i engaged the switch the fuse immediately blew. I put in another fuse and tried it again...same thing. Just to see if it was my light i connected one end of my test light to ground and then touched my light to the batery pos. post. The light lit up for a sec and then the post started to smoke. Can a test light "short" inside and then when you use it, it just puts straight ground onto whatever wire you probe?

Stop being primitive, and use a voltmeter!!!

I know. My dad ganked it from last week to check something on his RV. I guess he is paying me back for all the times I got into his tools when I was little because he took it with him on his trip.
