CHATTERBOX INTERCOM GROUP BUY!

Big news! TracQuest has worked out a deal with Evosport in Los Angeles,co-owned by our very own Brad Otoupalik (TracQuest instructor and BMW Club Racer extraordinaire!), for TracQuest people to purchase a Chatterbox intercom system. Most of us have been using the Nady motorcycle intercoms but have been unhappy with them because they eventually stop working due to problems with the ends of the headset cords. From research and first hand reports of people who have used it, the Chatterbox system is superior in a number of ways, including sound quality (stereo sound in the owner's helmet).

The Chatterbox system consists of a central unit (HJC-50) into which the headsets insert (which is attached to the owner's helmet, rather than having to be held by the passenger), owner's headset and mic system (CB50 FFHS for full face or OFHS for open face, which requires a minor amount of installation) and a student headset and mic (similar to the Nady headsets, but sturdier). There are two different owner's headset and mic systems for full face and open face helmets.

All three Chatterbox components together usually run between $110 and $130, plus tax and shipping. However, TracQuest and Evosport are both subsidizing the units in this group buy in order to provide you with the best price anywhere - about $90 plus tax and shipping for the entire system. The specific component prices are shown below:

Item: MSRP: CC: Cash/check:
HJC-50 $74.95 $52.47 $48.75
CB50 FFHS $29.99 $20.99 $19.50
CB50 OFHS $35.00 $24.50 $22.75
Student headset $29.99 $20.99 $20.99

A description of these products can be found at:
http://www.vigorsports.com/chatterbox/flash_products.html Note that the student headset isn't shown, but it is available.

To order, contact Brad via email at [email protected] or call the
Evosport order number at (888)520-9971, ext. 10. Either way, make sure you mention that your purchase is part of the TracQuest group buy. While TracQuest instructors are required to have intercom systems, not all of the instructors at other clubs' events are required to have them, or do in fact have them. As such, it's not a bad idea for students to have their own intercom, so that no matter where they go, they will
always be able to communicate easily with their instructors. That's why this offer was sent to the Participant as well as the Instructor distribution list.

WILLOW SPRINGS - SATURDAY-SUNDAY, AUGUST 3-4

Both instructor and participant spots are still available for
TracQuest's event at Willow Springs (big track, of course) on the
weekend of Aug. 3-4. Attendance at this event will be relatively small, so track time will be ridiculously abundant - likely 7+ hours over the course of both days, if you take advantage of all of the time available to you. This is TracQuest's first weekend event at Willow Springs, after battling for 10 years to get a weekend date! It's only about an
hour further than Buttonwillow for you Northern California folks, and the big track at Willow Springs is not to be missed! The event write-up can be found on the TracQuest web site, and you can now register securely on-line, if you desire. If you have any questions about the event, let me know.
